7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - Asian Sunday week #99 - winner announcement!

@axeman Asian Sunday entry:

Dialogue. Travel memories from Israel. Shot at the coast of Mediterranean Sea near Old Yaffa, the center of Tel-Aviv. Nice sunny, but not so hot and windy day. Nice place to spend the time nearby the sea, which is actually just after this hill with nice unusual form tree. The bird was just an excellent addition to the composition, which now is telling us the whole story. Enjoy it!

United Colours of New Zealand Winter. This is Chateau Tongariro, one of the favorite places to stay during New Zealand 's winter months. It is situated at Whakapapa Village, at the foot of the famous mountain trio - Ruapehu, Ngauruhoe and Tongariro. Partly seen at the background is Mt Ruapehu, one of the two places in the North Island where tourists go to do skiing.

@jpphotography Tuesday of Antarctica and world's oceans entry:

New Zealand Sunset. I enjoyed countless beautiful sunsets during my travels in New Zealand. I usually prefer mountains over beaches, but the beautiful and wild coast of New Zealand certainly is an exception.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – African Wednesday week #99 – winner announcement!

@karma-panorama African Wednesday entry:

Camel parking lot. When they are not carrying tourists around, they can take a break.
I would have liked to have their faculty of saving water when I visited the desert. They can drink up to 135 litters in 10 minutes and are able to save it for a very long time. Unlike me who suffered of dehydration when I was there. I never saw them take a sip during that hot day.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - European Thursday week #99 - winner announcement!

@nikollettesunday European Thursday entry:

Location_ Bannalpsee in Switzerland. Last weekend I finally went to a place I´ve got on my bucketlist fo a long time already. We had perfect weather, and not too warm. While in the rest of Switzerland most people had 30 degrees and more we enjoyed 23 degrees on our highest point (2400 m). The highlight of the refreshment was a short swim in the lake, after about 6 hours of hiking - perfect sunday, isn´t it?

Venice, one of the most popular seaside neighborhoods of Los Angeles, California, is also home to numerous impressive street art pieces such as this one. I took this shot on a chilly February day last year.

The path through the mountains from Santiago de Cuba to Baracoa

To get from Santiago de Cuba to Baracoa, the high mountain pass must be used. No other way leads to Baracoa.

On the road is this beautiful viewpoint located. Not only a beautiful view is offered there. Local people sell cocoa grown in the mountains as cocoa balls and cocoa butter .

Historic Centre of Sancti Spiritus, Cuba

Just as nearby Trinidad, Sancti Spiritus was founded it 1514 and therefore was one of the first European settlements in the New World. The colourful facades of the historic centre have been beautifully restored, but contrary to Trinidad, Sancti Spiritus is not overrun with tourists.

Stormy Silhouette
A late night thunderstorm with lightning, gives off a reflection on Oak Creek along with a silhouette of Cathedral Rock. During the summer months the North American Monsoon Season brings much needed rain to this high desert environment. This image was shot on film in Sedona Arizona USA.

This beautiful field of yellow flowers and aspens was taken on recent trip to Utah. My brother and I went for a drive on Nebo Loop and this is one of many beautiful pullouts.
More of the drive is here Share My World: Nebo Loop drive.

An often forgotten landscape, Alberta's wetlands occupy over 20% of our land. much of the wetlands are preserved in Alberta as they are a crucial habitat for small wildlife and various waterfowls and birds along with helping city air remain naturally filtered and fresh (wetlands are some of the best natural methods of filtering CO2 out of the air) . It doesn't look like much at first glance but taking the time to just be at one with nature and pay attention to the small details, plenty of hidden surprises. This picture was taken in the city of Edmonton at Hermitage Park, part of the green belt of uninhabited flood plains that separates the north and south of he city (The series of parks are also part of the Trans-Canada Trail). The blue heron is fishing for his afternoon meal.

The promenade on the Park Guido-Nincherie. Original design just across the street from the botanic garden and near the Olympic Stadium. It is a nice park with a nice view but a bit too close to a busy road.

Toronto, Canada. This city is famous for the iconic CN Tower that dominates the skyline and Lake Ontario, one of the great lakes of North America. Toronto is a burgeoning city of culture.

Arizona... I went in 1998 for the first time to the West coast of USA. I do much regretted I didn't get to see the cactuses typical for Arizona, the Saguaro cactus.
When I went back in 2016 and 2017 I didn't want to miss them. It's amazing how these majestic cactuses are all over the place once you get south enough in Arizona. They can get so old. They're only full grown at 200 years of age.

New Hampshire, USA.
The mountain’s fresh air is always good even when you have a cloudy day. climbing can be hard or steep but arriving at the top is always rewarded with a great view.
