While most of the tourist go to the lake, which is amazing, the surrounding land is stunning as well and there are many hiking trails throughout the park. In fact the Pacific Coast Trail runs through the park.

I was exploring the caves in Petra Jordan were people used to live and I came across this one cave that had a window with a awesome view. @axeman Tuesday of Antarctica and World´s Oceans entry:

Coming back to frozen Baltic Sea and amazing views which you could see during very cold and very calm periods of winter. Very low shooting angle and very wide angle lens again bringing quite unusual overall perspective for the scenery. Enjoy the scenery!

@jpphotography African Wednesday entry:

Camels in the Sahara. On the last day of my trip to the Sahara, our guide readied the camels early in the morning. To give the camels a rest, we all agreed on walking back to Merzouga instead of risking another bumpy ride.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - European Thursday week #47 - winner announcement!

@mibreit-photo European Thursday entry:

Here I have a fresh photo from the Austrian Alps. I took it last weekend on a hiking trip in the Stubai Valley. It was a wonderful calm morning. After thick clouds had still obscured this view throughout the night I was very happy to wake up at 4am to a clear sky. It was pure magic.

Iconic Pacific Park is an oceanfront amusement park located on the Santa Monica Pier in Santa Monica, L.A., California.
Millions of visitors each year enjoy all the rides, games and fun overlooking the Pacific Ocean.An absolute cannot-miss when visiting Pacific Park is the Pacific Wheel, the world’s only solar-powered Ferris wheel! It has been featured in countless movies and TV shows.

Great to see you participating in the contest. Thank you and have a great weekend.

Grand Canyon
How long can a lonely human survive in the summer heat of the Grand Canyon? What did you feel last time you saw something as incredible as the Grand Canyon?
I was stunned, excited and almost shaking when we came closer to the rim of the Canyon. There are a lot of great Canyons around the world but the "Grand" Canyon is really special. Get up early, do some hiking and just enjoy worlds pure and incredible nature.

I flew over in the helicopter once and it was probably the most incredible experience of my life. What a place!

Taken along the Three Sister's Parkway, the secondary road that links the town of Canmore, Alberta to Peter Louheed Provincial Park. We were out exploring by vehicle for new camping spots for the future on a rainy gloomy day because it was too crappy to go for a long climb.

Its Just A Beautiful Day

Blue skies, white clouds and the magnificent Cathedral Rock are seen here in perfect balance of natural elements. Earth air and water combined with exceptional light created this visual feast. Please enjoy this marvelous scene from Sedona Arizona USA.

You do not participate much but when you do it's certainly worth it!

Mesa Arch in Cancyonlands NP

This view of Canyonlands National Park is one of the most iconic views that Utah has to offer. Along with Arches National Park, Canyonland features rock formations that look like out of this world.

I have also posted this photo on my blog.

Monument Valley, Arizona/Utah
One of my favorite spots on earth is Monument Valley which stretches through both Arizona and Utah. The land is so flat and out of nowhere come these towering, massive buttes. They say that this is where the earth meets the sky!

Just an incredible piece of nature. Thank you so much for your entry. Tomas

thank you tomas!!!

California State Route 190 running west through Death Valley National Park. Death Valley is the hottest place in the world and when we went camping there in September a few years ago the temperature in the middle of the night was in the mid 80s and well over 100 during the day.

Thank you so much for you submission. Kindly stay tuned for the winner announcement coming soon.

Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona

I used to be a tour guide in the American Southwest. I would sometimes lead my groups (safely!) to the edge of the Grand Canyon blindfolded to give the first view more impact. Upon first sight, some people would gasp, others laugh, others start to quietly cry at the truly overwhelming beauty of the canyon. The lone hiker on the cliff in the upper left side of the photo will give you a sense of the scale.

That place is just magnificent!

Dancing on the Water !!
Nothing beats being close to nature and enjoying a beautiful sunset up close like this. While only a few more weeks of Canadian summer is left I visited Sauble Beach , Ontario with my family last week. Captured this couple on a standup paddle , I felt as if they were dancing.

What a stunning image. Well done!

Thank you Tomas.

This photo was taken in April this year when I was travelling in USA.
It is from a place you must visit if you are planning to be in Las Vegas or vicinity. Photo is from Valley of Fire, which is classified as State Park and it offers a lot of interesting rock formations, which is more known to Utah area.
