@roadtrips Asian Sunday entry:

Chess Pavillion. On the famous Mount Huashan you can visit this beautiful place. The way down to the pavillion is a very narrow path which you have to climb with the help of steel chains. So even the way there is an adventure.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - African Wednesday week #65 - winner announcement!

@itchyfeetdonica African Wednesday entry:

I took this picture in the southern valley of Ethiopia, near the boarder of Kenya. These girls were singing and dancing cheerfully. They wore distinctive accessories made with bright-colored beads and feathers. And the wooden object on the middle girl's head was not only a decoration, but also a common bench used by locals to rest. :)

Night view of the Juliusz Slowacki Theater in Krakow. Opened in 1893, this theater is one of the oldest and most beautiful theaters in Poland (and possibly all Central Europe). Sixteen years later, in 1903, the theater was named after Juliusz Slowacki, a prominent Polish Romantic poet. Located on the Holy Spirit Square in the historic center of Krakow, the theater is one of the most famous and photographed landmarks of this Polish metropolis.

Thank you so much for your entry. Have a good one.

Thank you so much for your participation. Have a great day.

I was at the sandy shore flying a drone for a video of the Lake Constance region, and clicked this picture during its flight. Lake Constance is known as Bodensee in German. It borders Austria, Germany and Switzerland. The seemingly endless lake makes me feel it's a vast sea, just like Lake Baikal and Lake Titicaca.

Thank you so much for your entry.

Trolltunga.jpg
That feeling when standing or sitting on the Trolltunga in Norway!
It was an amazing experience to walk on this scary cliff and totally worth the steep hike up there.

I could sit right there and stare at this beauty all day long.

Yes me too :)

I've seen many photos of Trolltunga before, this one is remarkable!!

Thanks for the nice words :)
We were very lucky about the good weather

Rainfall of Souls

The strongest Aurora Borealis I have seen in my life so far. Well, I wasn't yet in Norway or Iceland. And for Lithuania this is extremely rare occasion to have such strong solar storm visible, also because we have many cloudy and rainy days per year.
Anyhow, that was true luck and extremely calm weather this night. So we went further from the city to the beach of Baltic Sea and Miss Fortune was really on our side :)

Shot with wide 14mm lens on 30 seconds long exposure

Enjoy it!

This is amazing!

Magnificent! What an experience this must have been to witness such a beauty with your own eyes. Thank you so much for sharing it with all of us.

These colours are just incredible! I've only seen the normal green ones before and they were fascinating.

Antwerp with a autumn storm gliding over it. Luckily I found a great spot of one of Hollands typical dikes. Standing a bit higher gave me a perfect view on a unique thundercloud. It was pretty small and really spectacular with all the lightning within. After a few shots, there was a nice strike hitting earth at its fullest.

What a magnificent view!

Thank you so much. It means a lot coming from you.

View from Preikestolen, Noway

In Scandinavia, wild camping is legal and I decided to pitch my tent near this amazing viewpoint. A few other travellers had the same ideaI we were all hoping to be rewarded with an amazing sunrise after the windy night. When we woke up it was overcast, but the view was still impressive.

I have also posted this photo on my blog.

This was taken on the way from Fort Augustus to Pitlochory in Scotland when I went on a 3 week road trip the other year. Every corner we turned along the narrow roads through the mountain was like another painting. We kept on stopping to take photos, till in the end we figured if we continued like this we would never get to our destination.

What a stunner, thank you so much for sharing.

Thank you, my pleasure to be part of this great contest

Iceland is a captivating country with sublime landscapes. The land of ice, fire and water made of multiple volcanoes is something to see. This is the blue lagoon, a magnificent place where people can swim even during winter as the water still warm.

Wow, I would love to do that!

Birmingham Canal
A summery scene in the heart of Birmingham - the canal and the Cube surrounded by the traditional Victorian buildings. It is a secluded part of the city and serves well for casual walks. Here you get a quick connection from Mailbox to Brindley Place.

Oh, that brings some great memories. I did spent a fairly significant time of my life in Birmingham.

Oh, wow, I am glad to have brought it to the table!
