Hello fellow Steemians,

I hope you are all having a great weekend! :) As usually, I am here with my daily photo challenge where you can submit your personal images from your travels to Prague and other locations in the Czech Republic in the comment section below.

The best 15 entries of the day will get my upvote. I will then pick the absolute winner of the day from these 15 photos. The winning photo will be awarded with a bigger upvote and it will also be featured as the cover image for the challenge post the next day to give the author of the winning shot some more exposure and publicity.

Don’t forget to add a short background story for your entry with at least 30 words and let me just remind you one more time that only personal images will be accepted in the challenge.

There were many great entries submitted in the yesterday Prague/Czech Republic photo challenge and I had a hard time picking the best one. After a deliberate consideration, however, I decided to choose the following entry by @manoldonchev:

Activities on Charles Bridge. As I walked by again and again there was always somebody drawing there, always somebody playing music. I've seen the location empty or with few people only in artists paintings and drawings.

I know this is not your typical entry for the contest but let me guys explain why I decided to submit this shot. The reason is actually very simple - Czech people love mushroom foraging and right now, the mushroom season is in full swing here :) I took this image in a forest outside of the little Silesian village of Radun just a few days ago.

Actually this is a perfect entry revealing little more about our culture. I did the exact same thing yesterday:)....

Pearl in the St. Vitus Castle
One of the most beautiful places in the castle with a stained glass window by Alfons Bucha. It is a large imposing building. If you want to see everything, you are certainly working there for an hour and a half. St.Vitus cathedral is one of Prague's great attractions. Try to avoid the morning time.

Like Mozart and Joseph I in Austria, I spotted a lot of King Charles IV around Czechia. Charles was the 14th Century King of Bohemia and later, the first Holy Roman Emperor from this region.

His birth name was Wenceslas, however he is not the good King mentioned in the song. That Wenceslas was alive in the 10th century. However, he was a member of the same Royal dynasty.

Beautiful View From St. Bartholomew in Pilsen Square
Just 299 steps and 13 flights of stairs until you reach the clocktower with spectacular views of the city of pilsen. Worth the hike up. The view of the tower is accessible, a beautiful Gothic building with one of the oldest madons in Central Europe, dating back to the 14th century.

The old town of Cesky Krumlov is quite compact and easy to walk around. There are plenty of beautiful, well kept buildings from the 17th century. Keep a look out for the many frescoes.

The streets are windy, some narrow and there are some hills. The old town is contained by the bend of the river. It is a UNESCO heritage site dominated by cobble stoned streets.

The monument to Wenceslas on horseback, I will say a few words about it, serves as the main guide for tourists with excursions. Why, in his part called the area.
The statue of St. Wenceslas on horseback belongs to the work of Yosef Myslbek, whose project was chosen at the contest. The bronze Wenceslas holds a spear in his right hand. It is surrounded by four saints - Prokop, Vojtech, Lyudmila and Anechka. Vaclav belonged to the family of Przemysl. His principality was in the X century. He took a vow of celibacy and tried to introduce Christianity not only in the Czech Republic, but also in Germany. The majority of the population at that time were pagans who did not like Vaclav's Christian agitation at all. At age 28 Vaslav was killed at the entrance to the temple.
That's how he became a symbolic patron of Prague.

A splendid Gothic church, inside there is a unique atmosphere created by the light that enters through the windows and the majestic rose window. To see the chapel of St. Wenceslas, the mausoleum and the Royal Crypt. From the outside, first of all, you immediately notice the majesty of the church, the twin spiers and the bell tower of the Cathedral of San Vito, superb masterpiece of the fourteenth century and spiritual symbol of the nation, to note that this church can be seen from most of the city.

Singing Fountain, The Royal Gardens of Prague Castle
P1090248.JPG
The fountain was put into operation in 1574. Many people took part in it. The same people also cast bells and cannons ...
When you put your ear to the bottom of the shell, you will hear the tone A. It forms the water falling into the bronze vessel. The sound reminds the ringing of all the Prague bells ... (Reportedly, I do not have a musical hearing.)

The highest mountain of Czech Republic - Sněžka or as we call it in Poland - Śnieżka. I took this picture about 2 weeks ago, it was early morning and it was really great to wake up in the mountains .

Tower_upon_Tower_m.jpg

The shadow of a tower upon... another tower. Walking on a narrow street I did not expect to find such scale. Come to think of it. I did not know almost anything about Prague before I got there. So everything surprised me with its scale in general. If I had to describe the architecture with one word that would be it.
