[YIYU in Korea #5] 1 Day Tour to Gangwon province : Enjoy both of the Mountain and the Sea at the same time!

in #travel7 years ago (edited)

Lately my rib bone was cracked. So I had to quit all activities for 2 months. And today, it was the first day to go hiking after got recovered! Yayyy~ Seolak mountain is such a big area in Gangwon province. There are lots of trails and I choose one of the shortest paths considering my strength. After hiking, I could enjoy sea view at Seolak port.

Towangseong Waterfall

Towangseong waterfall trail is open to public since only 3 years before. It takes about 1.5 hr from a parking lot.

Sogeum-gang. "Geum-gang" is a name of beautiful mountain in North Korea. "So" means 'a little' so "Sogeum-gang" means 'a little Geum-gang' beautiful as much as Geumgang.

It starts from a calm path in the forest.

We are going to there!

Autumn leaves + Winter ice. It was the first ice I saw this winter.

The path is getting more tough but still it's okay.

Seolak Port

It's a small port. We didn't know even there it is but we had to stop by to see a great wave. It was the biggest one that I've seen in Korea. There was Tzsunami radar near the observatory.

Look at that wave!

A nice path along the coast

There is a seafood market as well. But 1) we desired Ddukbokki(Korean snack) for a lunch, 2) parking fee was free for 10 minutes, so we left about 10 minutes later. lol

Sokcho Seafood Market

Sokcho is one of the biggest port city in Gangwon province. There is a well-known local market, "Jung-ang Market". I can say, every tourists visit there buy "Manseok chicken ball". Of course, I bought it too. lol

Excited YIYU

Actually we've been there to grab some Korean snack, but unfortunately the only snack bar in the market was closed. It may be another luck for us because we could get crisp fried shrimps!

On the way back home, we stopped by Hange-reyong rest stop to see a panorama.

It was freezing cold. -5℃ in November!

Unfortunately, the door to go to the observatory was closed by cold. I fully understood about that since it was freezing. I couldn't stand it there even 10 minutes.

I had a bit tough time for hiking but it makes me feel refresh. I loved the scenery as well!
I'll post about the market someday. (:

Always thanks for your reading, Steemians!😍
See you again, soon.😘
