When I was a child, I knew that 4 seasons are only exist in Korea. Because the textbook said that "Korea has beautiful 4 seasons with color changing" but there was no comment about other countries. Now, I know everywhere on certain latitude has similar environment, and people world around enjoy leaves color changing in the fall.

The maple tree in Cheongju

It's getting colder nowadays. So, last week was the last chance to enjoy autumn leaves. I visited to Cheongju to appreciate colorful autumn trees. Luckily I have a nice tour guide who lives in Cheongju so I could visit many places by her warm kindness.

Daecheong Dam

Daecheong dam is a multi purpose concrete dam located where Daejeon and Chungcheongbuk-do meet. It's about 30 minutes far from South Cheongju bus station. The observatory offers a great view of Daecheong Lake. The lake is made by the dam so some villages are underwater now.

Muni Cultural Heritage Complex

Some rural villages are under the Daecheong Lake now. To memory cultural heritages which had to have gone, people made Muni Cultural heritage Complex near the dam. Its history is like Cheongpung's one. I think Cheongpung Cutural heritage Complex is bigger than Muni, but if you are in Cheongju, it's worth to visit shortly for sure.

Cheong Nam Dae

At the first time I heard of its name 'Cheong nam dae', I knew it would be a name of the university. Because "Dae" means "University" in Korean. But I was wrong. lol It's a presidential vacation villa. It opened to public since 2003 by former president Roh Mu-hyun. It consists of the villa, a swimming pool, a tennis court, a garden and has several trails by it's geographical reason. You can choose a trail in the forest or a walk way along the lake.

I'm so afraid that I can't show you the mysterious lovely blue & green color. It was amazing.

The most exciting moment was seeing old traditional pictures on the doors of the noble house in Muni complex. My hobby is drawing and once my dream was to be a cartoonist. Especially I fell in love with old traditional black & white drawing like this.

There were some animal drawings and I took all of those. I will post it later. :D
