National Walking Day

Was created by the American Heart Association,
with heart health as their justification.

Walking is advised,
because it’s a low risk exercise!

Here’s what you can gain,
just walking down, a lane.

Walking for pleasure,
lowers blood pressure.

Extending the walks length,
can increase bone strength.

Best of all,
it helps lower cholesterol!

I hope you’ll partake,
for your heart’s sake!

So, let me talk,
about where you can walk.

If it’s nice weather you lack,
try an indoor track.

Around your neighborhood,
would do you good.

You can stroll in a park,
or walk to a local landmark.

You can walk solo,
it isn’t a no-no,

but with a friend,
you’ll have an ear to bend.

So, toss on some shoes,
you have nothing to lose,

except some weight,
that’s not a terrible fate!

If you want your walking to stand out from the crowd, Walk Like an Egyptian!
