The biggest tie in the world -comes from Croatia

History
The story tells that it was during the Thirty Years War that the tie became popular when thousands of Croatian soldiers went to France to serve the King Louis XIV. They were part of a cavalry composed only of Croatian soldiers, named Royal Cravat. It was a part of their traditional uniforms, the Croats tied special bandanas around their necks.The girls were giving the bandanas to their men when they went to war, as a sign of their loyalty. That way, the tie entered Europe as a sign of class and sophistication.
The tie is, first of all, a sign of elegance but with time the tie became a symbol of the business and corporate world.
Not everybody knows how to wear a tie, or to tie it up.
The knot is certainly interesting because he actually gives personality, that seal of individuality to the person wearing the tie.
Tie in the Book of Records
The Croatian pride about the tie is such that entered even in the Guinness Book of Records with the biggest tie in the world.
For the creation of this piece of art, there were 120 km of the thread, 450 kg of fabric and more than 300 hours of sewing used. The most challenging part was to tie a knot, which was tied at 21 meters of height and was 9 meters deep. However, around hundred children were there to help stretch the tie. The biggest tie in the world was placed around one of the great symbols of the country, in the Arena amphitheater, one among the six largest surviving Roman arenas in the World located in the city of Pula. The date became celebrated as the International Tie Day.

But personally, I really hope the tie for every occasion goes out of fashion soon. My talents to knot and wear them are rather limited. In too many cases they end up as napkins for me..
I agree with you that tie goes out of fashion soon. For my job, I don't need it and I am not better than
you in making decent knot - I have few in my closet already tied up( my father did it :)
