Speaking words of love
important at the best times
vital in the worst

Cori MacNaughton

I just wrote this haiku in response to @fishyculture's post here, regarding the power of our words, and our responsibility to use them with love, thus bringing about a more loving world, one person at a time.

It is so easy to forget, as we navigate our busy lives, that something as simple as a kind, thoughtful word can completely turn the day around for someone who is in emotional turmoil.

And even if a person is having just an average day, with nothing especially great or terrible going on, being kind with our words can go a long way toward pushing their day toward the great category.

It is also easy to forget that saying something unnecessarily harsh can dash someone's day against the rocks, and turn what had up until then been a good day into something other. This is especially true when speaking to children.

Make the choice to be kind, endeavor to make it a conscious habit, and the likelihood is that that kindness will come back to you in a myriad of ways you'd never even think to expect.

Let us do our part to make this a kinder, gentler and more loving world, by tempering our own words with love.

Melaleuca, a company that has been making natural, eco-friendly
products since the 1980s, that not only work as well as
chemically laden versions from the supermarket,
but are safer, and typically save money overall in addition.

I was introduced to them by a co-worker in 1990, lost track
of them, and was thrilled to find them again about a year
and a half ago. I strongly recommend their products.

All words and images are my own.

I took the photo a couple of months ago of a gorgeous sunset, taken from my front porch, using my Samsung Galaxy Note 8 smart phone.

The photo of our dog, Lolo, and our late cat, Miod, I took as they were cooperatively begging at the dinner table, despite our longstanding rule of not feeding them from the table.

You can see how much that deterred them both.
