🧐The Genius of Vantage Points

in #thealliance6 years ago

Someone who has known little suffering in life could possess a vantage point that is in direct opposition to someone who has suffered a great deal. Both or neither of these example "people" could be accepting, happy, enraged or feel in limbo. The simplicity of a single Orchid may prove an intricate specimen to another...thinking Georgia O'Keefe
What is linear thinking to one person could transform into an actual brainstorm in another...

Love the quote at the end. Reminds me of the one man's trash saying.

good point! I feel right now things are on quicksand and people are having a hard time constantly having to "keep up and adapt"...the rate is impossible but I guess a couple of Screwdrivers and some good music can sorta relieve what feels like constant stress

Going through bad times certainly changes someone and their thoughts, their life choices and much more. I am not happy for the bad times that i had neither but they made me the man that i am today. I think that the best thing that we can do is just to make the best out of what we have. Sure, suffering sucks a lot and marks you for life but it also gives you a different view on things and that view can be seen as a treasure. Personally, i try to see the positive side and when i think about my childhood and my parents i say: "Well at least i know what bad parenting does to someone and how important it is". Sure, i didn't need to go through such experiences to know that some things are bad but i cant change the past.

The continual confusion of "different" and "better" in some segments of our society is a continuing source of frustration to me. No, folks, just because something is different or even just new doesn't mean that it's a better means of achieving an end or more efficient. Sometimes it does, when we're talking about mechanical processes, but not when discussing social or personal ones.

This goes hand-in-hand with the idea of "noble suffering." Suffering does not make one noble. Often it makes one more petty, more inward-striving, and more risk-hungry, but in a social system where the biggest set of Misery Balls(tm) seem to earn the right to shout everyone else down -- this is a hard thing to communicate.

when someone says, "He achieved all this in the face of adversity(insert bland motivational quote)...I think this person achieved in spite of
some of us are Survivors , we do things in spite of the shit that happened not like it was amazingly wonderful to go through though I do try to find some type of lesson or silver lining to keep that sunshiney persona of mine going, sure you can relate, lol

Love that Stanley Kubrick clip. Thanks for this thought provoking post.

Tip!

thanks, that is such a trippy clip with the music
thanks for the tip @princessmewmew

I've always thought peoples lack of understanding that we all have a different perspective hinders communication. Even in the same situation, people can see if differently.

Huh, that's such an interesting point. Like a polarized lens in a way. Who is right, who is wrong...?

Truly, man has different stories and perspectives.

as a manual curator on here it is really interesting to see everybody's different 'trips' in life,

your 'in-post interaction' is TOPS

That makes the life worth living,eh? To be different in our own ways and to be happy with it.

totally agree :)

I like it @battleaxe. We all base our opinions and decisions upon what we perceive to be true or right.

Sorry I'm a bit late, so busy.
