Prada Marfa is located off of Hwy 90 in Valentine, TX about 25 miles from Marfa, #Texas. It is literally in the middle of nowhere. Prada Marfa was erected by artists Michael Elmgreen & Ingar Dragset to be fashioned after an actual Prada boutique, the interior of the structure displays shoes and handbags from Prada’s 2005 (the year it was created) fall collection. Prada Marfa is actually a permanent #art installation that has been classified as a museum by the TXDOT. People come from all over the globe to get a glance at the fake store and pose for photographs in front of it, my family included. Although the placement of this so called piece of art is intriguing, I am by no means impressed or genuinely moved by it. This so called art piece has been the subject of theft and "art-vandalism". Texas artist Joe Magnano, took it upon himself to make a mockery of the Prada Marfa piece by defacing it with TOM'S advertisement. Ironically, Prada Marfa sits on a  popular route for people that illegally cross from Mexico to USA. All artist bullshit aside, this would make a great stop if you ever #travel by car from Marfa to El Paso. Be sure to have a lock handy to add to the Ponts de Arts lock tradition on the back fence.
