Come to the Brisbane meet-up on 30 December 2017
Hi everyone, I'm writing to you today from Cairns in beautiful, tropical North Queensland. The friend I'm visiting lives in a resort which has like five pools or something. Since you know I love pools I'm going throw some photos of the ones I found for visual interest and to make you all jealous while I talk about the meet-up.

Ok, so first things first. I want to apologise for my general level of shitness at steemit this week. My routine is completely out of whack now that I'm back in Australia and I've pretty much not read anything unless I've been looking for curie worthy posts. Not sure when I'll get the next Team Australia update out either. Hopefully this week though, cos I'll be back down in Brisbane today and then housesitting, meaning I should have some kind of new normal routine going on.
So what is the purpose of this post, apart from making you wish you had better real life friends? I'm organising a meet-up and I'm making it official by inking it on the block.
Here's what you need to know
When?
2-4pm Saturday 30th December.
Can't do that day? Too bad. I'll be flying back to Panama the following Saturday on 6 January, so it's the 30th or you'll have to wait a year until next Christmas when I'm back again.
Obviously there's nothing stopping you from organising your own meet-up whenever you want in the meantime.
Where?
Riverbar & Kitchen, Eagle Street, Brisbane.
Why here?
It was decided in the #teamaustralia chat room on Discord that a pub was a better idea than a park. I chose this one cos:
- it's nice
- it has has lots of outdoor seating (hopefully it won't rain)
- Story Bridge views
- they make good chips.
Perfect for a Saturday afternoon.
How do I get there?
If you're getting the train or bus it's about a 10min walk from Central Station or King George Square. If you're getting the CityCat then it's a 2 minute walk from Riverside Ferry Terminal.
There's plenty of parking down near Eagle Street if you're driving, although you might struggle to find free on-street parking, so be prepared to pay.
Who's coming?
Me, obviously. And hopefully these people since they've expressed an interest. If I'm there by myself I won't be happy. This will be my face in Discord if no one shows up. 😡
Please come along if you are in the SEQ area and have the time. I'd love to meet you. Just let me know in the comments so I at least have an idea of how many people to expect.
So come on Brisbane. The last attempt at a meet-up in November was really piss poor. We at least have to try and give Adelaide a run for it's money!

It's great to see more meet ups being arranged, I'm sure they'll help cement the friendships made since the inception of @teamaustralia
If it wasn't 'that' time of year I'd be there for sure, as I am a semi-regular visitor to QLD, but this year I'll be heading to the City of Churches for a bit of RnR around that time.
Hopefully, I can get some regular meetups going in Melbourne in the new year. Who is the Team Captain in Melbourne? Because I don't want to step on any toes ;-)
No one. If you want to organise something, then just do it I'd say. I'll promote any meet-ups and resteem from the Team Australia account for you.

Yeah there're heaps of people in Melbourne. I think bigdizzle and mazzle were both talking about something a while back but neither of them organised anything.
If you organise a meetup in Melbourne it'll just fill up with Victorians.

Alright cool, so if I fly out thursday ill get there friday and I should be able to make it. Totally worth it! Do you only go to Australia in December, but I think I should go with you next time. I make an excellent tanning friend.
If you leave on Thursday you'll probably get here Saturday, but that's ok cos the flights from the US arrive in the morning, so you've got plenty of time. I'll come pick you up from the airport. 😁
I don't do winter so I'm not coming back in July (unless there's some kind of emergency) and I like December/January in Australia. It's a really fun time of the year with summer holidays, Christmas, Australia Day all rolled in together.
Would love to come, unfortunately don't think 6 kids in a bar is a good idea! Lol.

I would love to come down for the "shindig" on the 30th but I've got a 50th Birthday in the arvo and my life wouldn't be worth living if I missed it!
Anyway, based on the general comments, maybe I could be the "Team Tosser" in Darwin, if there isn't one already?
