Synereo Roadmap

September is a very busy month for Synereo team and community with fundraising and all the fun which goes with it.

Nevertheless, the development is going on and here is the latest update prepared by Ed Eykholt.

Synereo Alpha Development Update 2016-09-27

  1. Docker install and testing: Several community members confirming the install process and were successfully able to run the node. Thank you! See docker-testing channel, https://github.com/synereo/dockernode , for details.

  2. Omni Layer integration: Current alpha build uses Bitcoin and running on testnet using synereo/SOC-92AMP branch on github. There is a progress on Omni Layer integration for AMPs.

  3. Multi-node integration: the symmetric communication is working as expected after fixing a non-trivial bug. We tracked down the problem with the SRP code path in distributed mode. We've fixed it and are now running with the client in distributed mode. There are many things still to test, however, the next step is to have two clients talking to one headless node. After that we can expand to have many nodes in the middle.

  4. Testing instructions. We are assembling instructions and will share an early version in next few days.

  5. Need to clarify feedback channels. We will be using Jira Issue Collector to file a defect you encounter during node testing. You cab submit issue/bug/defect at http://social.synereo.com/jiraissue.html , although this URL will change soon.

  6. New features. Need to set up a new slack channel for discussion of Alpha features. For now, please use design Slack channel.

  7. Internationalization. Good progress verifying UTF-8 strings in posts. Working on UTF-8 encoded tags (labels). Exploring internationalization/localization frameworks, including React’s. We have no near-term plan to localize, but expect that Mandarin will be the first priority.

  8. Working on “Terms of Use” and “Privacy Policy”.

  9. Other notable bugs. Ongoing. Need to verify large data import. Labels and queries are not reliable due to bugs and misunderstanding of usage. Getting duplicate posts back from the query (subscription).

Once items 2 and 3 are resolved, there will be an announcement to the community channel to encourage additional testing. That might be end of this week or, more likely, later.

As you can see there is a lot going on simultaneously.

If you are intrigued by the development of Alpha or by Synereo as a concept at whole, I invite you to join the SynereoTeam Slack channels. Welcome!

Thanks, corrected. When URLs are without markdown then the post publisher can't know where the link ends. My bad :)
