With New Technology, Cancer Can Be Spotted Several Months Before It Occurs
Man’s fight and battle against cancer has witnessed several breakthroughs in recent years; ranging from early identification of cancerous cells to modern procedures and even unorthodox methods of dealing with the dreaded disease.
With more scientific research and study of the disease to better understand how to tackle it, currently ongoing; giant steps are equally being taken in technological fields to aid the early detection and treatment of the disease.
If current news is anything to go by, then a technology which is wearable and can detect cancer several months before it even manifests is about to see the light of day.
While we anticipate a mainstream technological boost towards cancer treatment, a wearable tech device capable of predicting cancerous growths’ months before they form is soon to be launched.
According to technology experts, Finnish communication giant, Nokia, is currently putting finishing touches to a scanning technology that will sense biomarkers that depict the conditions needed for abnormal cell growth, like cancer, to happen.
Various other medical innovations which will utilize ultra-fast 5G internet networks in the future are also being considered, in the fight against cancer. There is also a drive for ambulances with the ability to transmit data to a hospital way before arrival.
Remote surgery is also one of the new innovations which are being fast tracked for mainstream application. Remote surgery can be conducted from across the world.
According to Nokia’s chief executive, Rajeev Suri, who was speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland; he said;
“With these sort of products, you can start to prevent stuff before it occurs and we think through biomarkers you can even figure out cancer several months before it occurs.”
“Think about how important that is when every month and every day is important to a cancer patient.”
A Future Wearable Cancer-Detecting Device
Recently, Nokia has had heavily vested interests in health technology, according to CNBC reports. And the multi-national company is devoting a new research team to the health sector,
Another innovation being developed by the company is the wearable sleeve product which is equipped with a chip capable of scanning information such as lactic and glucose levels, cholesterol, etc.
The new devices would certainly aid medical personnel’s access to updated patient information and also go a long way to smoothen ‘patient-doctor’ appointments
According to the Nokia boss, Mr. Suri, lots of network communications intend to unveil 5G internet network connectivity this year, and it could reveal a whole new world of medicine and medical breakthrough.
A medical feature like ‘remote surgery’ would easily be conducted from various parts of the world, devoid of any lag time.
The tech device would potentially aid surgeons who function in specialist hospitals or giant health departments, to carry out lifesaving procedures around the world using robotic tools.
Mr Rajeev Suri, has also pointed out that Nokia is partnering with China’s Mobile Research Institute to develop a 5G enabled ambulance.
Mr Suri added:
“Imagine someone who has had a heart attack on the street and they are picked up by an ambulance with 5G connectivity, hi-definition scanners and cameras.”
“You start taking a scan in the ambulance so all of that data is transferred to the surgery before the patient arrives and a diagnosis is already underway.”
Conclusion
Not much else can be said of the giant strides and revolutionary measures that science and technology is steadily bringing our way.
Our world is constantly experiencing science and technology at its finest, and life cannot get any more simplified; than having a device which can detect abnormal cancerous cells, several months before they are formed – leading to early treatment to save lives.
The release of the new wearable device is highly anticipated; coupled with a 5G internet network-enabled ambulance capable of transmitting data and information about a patient’s medical history and condition, even before the ambulance arrives the hospital.
Our scientific and medical future seems bright, and future generations have a lot to be thankful for.

I'm in my 4th year of Med School, and just the thought of some device that could tell me right away how my incoming pacient is, without having to send him to take blood tests, is glorious. The amount of improvements in Medicine would be unbelievable and little by little our society could experience a Health Revolution.
However, as far as these achievements go, it's equally important to find the best way of getting these kind of devices to the market without it being something only affordable for an specific social class.
Great post!
Wow! Good to know you are in the medical line, and you can relate to this innovation @havs.
You are quite right too. A major challenge of some medical innovations has always been the inability of every social class to afford and access such inventions and privileges.
I sincerely hope too, that this technology would be provided at a low cost for all class to have access to it. Thanks for reading @havs
Yeah, let's hope it does!
And than you for that excelent post.
Greetings, this technological advance is very interesting that is about to be launched, since a device that helps save lives deserves all the congratulations of the world because life is the only thing that can not be replaced. Thanks for sharing.
I agree with you @gasuba. Life is precious, and being unreplacable, we really should take very good care of it. And if technology helps us to improve life, then we should embrace it with open arms. Thanks for reading @gasuba.
