Two-Thirds of Top Silver Miners Suffering Significant Production Declines

I apologize if this has already been covered but I found an interesting article I wanted to share. SRSrocco is reporting that so far this year two-thirds of the top silver miners have faced production declines, which translates to about 9 million ounces of silver.
From what I've read from the Silver Institute in previous years is that more silver is being consumed then is being mined for the last several years. One would think at some point supply and demand fundamentals will takeover and force the price of silver to go substantially higher.
Also, take into account the a major of silver is a byproduct of other metals, if we were to face a serious economic downturn it's likely that base metal mining will decrease, which also decreases the production of silver, just when the general population will be getting interested.

thanks for the news, gold and silver is really a high need specially in electronics, so i wouldnt doubt if price was to go up, there is only a limited amount on this earth, and its not like we shooting rockets out to space with miners to mine on other planets ..
