Dragon & Phoenix, the celestial pairing

in #steemsilvergold8 years ago (edited)

Here is another dragon! Paired with the graceful phoenix.

This round is modeled after the ancient Chinese coins that have a square hole in the middle. Minted by the Shanghai Mint, this is not a legal tender coin.

The dragons is positioned at the top, balanced out by the phoenix at the bottom.

The back features the Great Wall of China. I find the texturing and dimensions of the image very well done. It also shows the weight and purity of the coin, and the year of mintage of 2018.

This round came with some documentation. I don't actually know what a 'cash proof' is.

I do note is that I believe they properly used a highly proficient English language writer to do this write-up, as sometimes, Chinese documentation in English is quite suspect in their 'translation'. Kudos to the writer/s! I suspect the writer/s also have a flair for dramatic writing, if you read the pamphlet below.

To be honest, I don't understand how they determined this as incorporation a 'Western' interpretation of the Phoenix and Dragon design.

And a little write-up about the Shanghai Mint. All rights to the pamphlet write-up belongs to the Mint. Just sharing with the ssg community!

Hope you all enjoyed this piece!

If you like this, compare this to my previous dragon and phoenix piece!! Let me know which version you prefer!

@rewards-pool where a small delegation can get you a big splash.

The Phoenix is a bird in Ancient Greek mythology, that has the power of rebirth. In Chinese mythology the bird called Fenghuang is what should be represented here, for it is the king of all birds.

Yeah, I think so. The eastern version does not burn into flames, I think.

I'm a bot. I detect haiku.

The hole was normally used in so called cash coins. A string was used to keep m together during shopping! Hence cash proof I guess.

Thanks! That could be it!

That's spectacular! I would love to have one in my safe!

I'm sure you'll get one soon!
