Finally so excited to announce the launch of @SteemShop! A simple system for empowering and enabling us all to buy and sell our products right here on the Steemit platform.
Of course we have always been able to do so using the instant and fee-free transfer function of our blockchain. However now using #SteemShop and a few simple guidelines we are able to advertise our products to a wider audience which means more sales for everyone!
We see @SteemShop as the eBay solution for STEEM/SBD and have worked with a team of advisors from across our community to create a simple and easy listings process for all to use. Follow these simple guidelines and include the infogram with your sales listing to be included in the market place!

All listings are free as built into the Steemit system, upvotes and resteems will be also be used to help promote sellers posts. Paid advertising features will be introduced as the SP and exposure of the shop account grows. We have a dedicated team working to help feature our sellers and help find buyers.

However practicing less judgement and seeing the best in others, I wish you the best with your project. My opinion is that upvotes for original content are always free in the sense that users only vote on what they enjoy or see as valuable. Absolutely, this is just the beginning and yet one of the most under developed aspects of our STEEM community. Many people are discovering they are not natural bloggers, this opportunity expands the horizons for ways they can still use our blockchain and it's strengths to build that home entreprise, that almost passive income, that multiple revenue stream.

I can take my PeerHub listings and move them over to SteemShop after looking into more (or I can find more stuff to just list). Is this going to be just a web hosted site or will there be a decentralized solution available? I am confused by the description, like are posts just tagged a certain way and a website will be highlighting those posts or something else going on?
Simply it's based on the internal transfer function of the steem blockchain so nothing much more than listings from the account itself.
Technically this makes it blockchain-wide and sales posts would show up through all dapps if searched for. We are intending for #steemshop to become a widely used search term for everyone looking to buy or sell goods and services.
Then as the main account grows in SP and following it will be able to feature sellers posts and reach a wider audience simply by using our tag as your first.

Do you feel like Steembay and Steemshop work together ? (ie I have an auction up right now, so technically could I have used the #SteemShop tag to ensure that auction shows up with all SteemShop listings).
Or will there be a block on #SteemBay hash tag used at the same time as SteemShop as not to have overlap?
I feel that the #steemshop service can work together with anything you are auctioning or selling. It is simply a ways to collectively promote sales listings so yes you could use it to show up in search results and maximize exposure.
However the only caveat about that is @steemshop will only be resteeming posts with the #steemshop tag listed first. This is to ensure they are able to stay on top of promoting sellers using their service and maximizing the growth of the account to in turn reward sellers and get them higher results in their specific trending tags.
I feel a lot of this is bound to unfold as we evolve and even more services emerge, so for now I'd say sure, use any combination of services that you can get to fit together and achieve your sales. 👍
Also in short, I can't say exclusively however I am 99% certain that @Steemshop is not going to be putting any blocks on any other services. Our guidelines were specifically designed the way they are to allow for maximum freedom for sellers to do what serves them best. I'm not even sure how a block like that would be implemented. Cheers.

Thanks, yeah we're all hoping to help get this account some traction so that we can promote a healthy internal market for buyer and sellers. The biggest picture is to bolster another under served use case for such a powerful blockchain in terms of transfers, transparency and accountability.

Sure I'd say so Sammo! The possibilities are vast for sure, it's something we all knew we could do with our STEEM/SBD and the blockchain provides us the tools. So it's just come time to join forces as a community and put this powerful use case to work!
In the bigger picture I also see this helping us all recover the market value too, why pay massive fees to buy and sell elsewhere when our already proven blockchain is fast, free and fully transparent? Let's do this! 👍
The last post of @steemshop was few months ago, hmmmm... I was going to see their posts and maybe sell my "games" there but...
I wish the updates come from the main account of the service rather than users accounts.
Yeah just to put your mind at rest there will be an official announcement in the next days, I guess I was just super fast from as soon as we got the green light to post about it.
For sure I am not the front of house guy, I'm just helping as a team member. My advice would be to get ready with your listings post and follow the guidelines in the infogram. Then once you feel comfortable get your listings in.
I know the team are going to be resteeming and promoting all listings right away to build up the account presence and then once the delegators come in there will be paid promotions available. So now would be a great time to get your games up! 😊
