The Curse of La Llorona is one of the best-known legends and although its history varies from place to place, it is famous enough to make it into a film and be part of the Warrenverso.
The story will be set in the 1970s in the city of Los Angeles, where we will see how a social worker and her children are dragged into a supernatural world. Seeing that his children are in danger, he will turn to his only hope of surviving the wrath of La Llorona, a priest who was always looking for a way to confront and keep at bay the perverse spirit.
Produced by James Wan, La Llorona's Curse will be directed by Michael Chaves, making his feature-length debut and written by screenwriters Mikki Daughtry and Tobias Iaconis. It will star Linda Cardellini, Patricia Velasquez, Raymond Cruz, Marisol Ramírez and Sean Patrick Thomas.

I didn't know they were making a film about La Llorona until I saw the poster announcing the trailer and although it may be simple I liked it and even a couple of scares caused me the first time I saw it. The premiere of The Curse of La Llorona is scheduled for April 19, 2019.
