We LOVE and THRIVE with your feedback and we're acting fast - Discord works too

KEYCHAIN: Over-whelming positive feedback about keychain was nice to hear.

OTHER UPDATES: We added a few other features yesterday but haven't posted about them which is good because we're using feedback on the last post and in discord to make a few changes... an updated version will be ready later today or tomorrow.

CONSIDER MESSAGING US ON DISCORD

We didn't post about the other updates yesterday as we wanted to focus on KeyChain but we had many conversations with users about some of the updates and we've already fixed some of them and we're solving a few of the others today.

I'd like to think all our users know us for being very fast to re-act to requests and bug reports.

WE WORK WELL WITH YOU THIS WAY

We have always worked well this way having a close connection to the community of users because we're a small team of non-full-time workers we love getting your feedback on each new release and making sure to fix things. It's worked wonderfully these last 6 months and we just want to remind all the new users that we're here to talk to. On a post like this or on discord or soon on a blockchain solution we're working on. (oh the intrigue! haha)

A GREAT OPPORTUNITY

Personally (@jarvie) I was glad for the feedback because it means we need to do a better job of making a user feel connected. There were a few users that apparently didn't realize we're the type of site they can actually talk to... and I understand this has perhaps not been their experience on steem so far, why would they think @steempeak is the type to go directly to with their requests/issues and praise. People are used to just writing a post in reaction assuming we don't care what they think or perhaps just assuming that's the only way we'll listen. And actually a post is fine... however we want to convey that part of our brand is listening. So if you write a review post we just ask you make sure the tone is one of ... knowing that we'll listen. And problem solving with us.

So writing a post like this was exactly what we needed this time around.

EXAMPLE: New popup interface

Here's an example of something we could have done better specifically with the pop-up interface.

Some people like it and some people don't ... what we learned is that the big issue here is that no-one knew that we put a system for disabling in your settings. There's a few other things like making sure "read more" is back and that will be back in the next release.

Educating/Informing them should have been on our to do list. Specially with a growing audience that isn't all connected on places like discord. I admit we've been spoiled by having a tight knit community this last year and now we need to communicate to the silent every day user.

So a solution would have been something like give a notification of what we did and the OPTIONS they had at their disposal. I think we have an even better solution that making users go to settings if they're not a fan of the interface, we'll be looking into it.

I'd like to think we're good creative problem solvers... we take a few different comments and try to figure out at what's at the heart of two different comments and maybe come up with something awesome that may actually promote our goals even better than before. It's been fun a fun process.

RECAP

So while we don't love giving any of you angst this is actually been great to know what things you love about https://steempeak.com/ and it's given us an opportunity to let you know what kind of team we are. Spread the word for us.

Also to all the new users coming in because of KeyChain... welcome, hope you're loving it as much as we are. Witness voting has been fixed in our testing and we'll have that on the new release as well, it's soooo much easier to use than voting with using a password every single time.

Thx for the great work, another issue which got quite annoying lately, when I commit an operation like an upvote or comment, sometimes I get an error although the vote or comment went through. If I then retry the operation, I get another error, because the vote was already registered and I have to manually check what's going on. Would be cool to somehow handle such blockchain errors more intelligently and perhaps retry the operation automatically after some delay or delete it if the operation was indeed successful.

Are you using steemconnect?

Solid feedback. I think I have seen what you're talking about but wasn't reproduceable enough for me to report it yet.

Another issue: I posted a comment, under this article for example, but the comment did not appear on the the page after it was successfully posted. ps. this time it worked, maybe it only does not work, if there are no comments yet under a post.

I've seen this yesterday, hopefully it is already fixed in the upcoming release we mentioned in the post.

Have you all thought about setting up a voting account that rewards users for delegating like some other services have?

Could you guys make an option for center position for the slideout panel? I'm really digging it, just not that it's on one side or the other. :P

DONE! How do you like it?

I approve. :)

Found a way to put it in the middle, the option would be in the next update ;)

Nice, it's all coming together perfectly. :)

@asgarth in discord said he had problems with centering it but found solution for it so should be in next update.
