How Steemit has Changed My Life: Steemit Ultimate Challenge 8 Weeks – Week #7 - Steemit made me strong to be useful

When I read about the contest that @dobartim was doing, I was really excited. FINALLY A CONTEST IN WHAT I COULD EXPRESS FREELY.

A contest about how steemit communications changed your life

As co-founder of a humanitarian aid foundation (@youarehope) born in steemit and the blockchain, i can tell you a lot about how steemit communications changed my life, because this did not happen overnight and i needed to meet a lot of people to be were i am now.

Before steemit I "worked" in Taringa which is another page that pays you for creating content, i struggled to make at least $ 0.50 - $ 1 a day. in Venezuela, where the monthly minimum wage It's just $ 5, $1 seemed a lot and I was happy, I could help my family eat at least.

One day someone in taringa told me that there was another page called Steemit that also pays for creating content and he sent me the link, my surprise was to see that on the first page were posts with $ 400 and up to $ 800

It seemed too good to be true, I could not believe it!

So I dedicated myself to learn everything about steemit: the concepts, the rules, to learn from the community, which things made one user better than another and what make some posts good and others bad,

I had never been in such a close-knit community, where they receive the new ones and guide them through the page and create communities for almost all tastes and interests.

Do you have any talent that could serve someone else? (programming, design, art, music) surely someone in steemit values that talent and they hire you for some work or they leave you good votes, you just have to show it to the public!

i remember my surprise when my first designs in animations were well received by the community, a lot of people wanted to use it, that's all what an artist want, that people use your art, steemit have a very good potential for artists!

Better quality than quantity

It is not about creating many posts, it is about contributing something useful, of good quality!

After two weeks of reading and learning and learning I decided to start with my first publications which were well received by the community and managed to raise about $ 20 in 4 publications, which helped me to bring food to my home, to feed my family. I WAS VERY HAPPY! (at this point, steemit saved me from hunger)

This success left me thinking, and I have always been a giver of heart, So i thought:

If I won this money "easily" and it helped me:
Why not help other people who could be in worse conditions than me?

At this point it was when Steemit started to change my life

So I already knew what I wanted to do, help people with the money raised in the earning of the posts

But as I said before, the steemit community is so wonderful that when I told to people about my project, the firsts one @eturnerxx and @sircork did not hesitate for 1 second to support me and help me make it come true and 2 weeks later we were feeding the first 20 people thanks to steemit

Thanks to steemit i can give food to homeless people

What I did not know is that this would touch the heart of @sircork and many more people in the process and they made me another bigger donation, which I used to feed more than 100 people and after that 200 more , we also give away shoes and clothes to people in need

With the support of YouAreHOPE I was able to give food to people in the street with need in Venezuela

Giving 220 Arepas to more than 100 people in a hospital

With the support of YouAreHOPE and Steemit I was able to give clothes and shoes to people on the street in need in Venezuela

Donating 222 Kg of food, Personal Hygiene Items and Notebooks + Pencils to children from an orphanage in Venezuela thanks to @YouAreHope and Steemit.

And all this was happening thanks to Steemit

Steemit was helping me to be strong, now I could be useful!!

Talking with @sircork we realized the BIG HUGE impact we could do in the world if tha project goes big, and we decided to found @youarehope A steemit community supported worldwide humanitarian aid organization powered by steem and now we can see the results around the world.

With the foundation we have helped many people around the world, not just here and is scalating quickly, you only need to click on @youarehope profile to find out.

Steemit also helped to change the lives of friends who i have invited to steemit

For any Venezuelan the ernings in steemit are A LOOT OF HELP. Maybe in the countries of the first world with $10 you do not do much, but here with $ 10 you can eat a week, knowing this, I started to promote steemit among my friends, and I want to mention some of them :

To my surprise they attached themselves very well to the page and it went well, then speaking with them they thanked me a lot for bringing them to steemit,
the money generated here has relieved them too much in the famine in which Venezuela is.

And so I go, attracting more and more friends to steemit because I know it could change their lives too.

Steemit has also helped transform my house, literally.

My dad (@rapo) built this house with his own hands from scratch, buying the materials and sticking each block of the walls.
all this when it where still be possible in Venezuela. With the Crisis he could not continue to build and the house was half finished.

My heart is glad and for me it is a pride to tell that I can help my father to finish the house in which we live, because with the sbd i'm able to buy materials and thus finish building the house, between father and son.

From struggling with a minimum salary to bring food to my home and even feed many more people, helping orphanages, educational institutes and this is not even ending yet.

Steemit made me strong

now i'm being useful.
