Challenge #5 Post

I have allowed @fatpandadesign to feature his own post in this week's challenge. As a judge, he is not allowed to participate himself and as this post is an interview with @neoxian, a great supporter of MSP, I thought it would still be a good fit. 😉

Please come up with a godlike comment and post it as a reply to this post.
To support @fatpandadesign, please consider adding the same comment to his post.

I suppose I'll know what happened if I see some breaking news about a break-in at Fort Knox... I've always wondered about the gold myself. Reminds me of one of my favorite lines from my favorite viral video ever:

"I wanna know where the gold at!"

Even if we never learn that secret, it has been interesting to hear about @neoxian's loan sharking on Steemit. I suppose no matter what era we've been in throughout time, there's always someone who has some sort of loan sharking business. I was surprised to see that the interest rates were so low considering some payday loan companies charge APR rates of over 1000% . Maybe we'll see that eventually, but for now, I think it's a great idea, and I'm glad he's been able to implement it successfully.

I probably won't be partaking in his business, but for now, he can have my witness vote.

Kudos to you, @fatpandadesign for the great interview questions. I can't wait for when you get some of these podcasted for us to listen to, especially with the guests I hear you have lined up.

@Neoxian sounds like an entrepreneur to me. A person that can build something from almost nothing. That is something that i admire.

But one question pops up: did @neoxian ever go back to the same kind of job that the one you quit? I'm having some thoughts about doing the same thing and it would be nice to know some more about how it all went.

Confirmed!
Now go and collect some upvotes. :)

Hi FatPanda!

I was a bit rattled by your choice of title for this article, so my first inclination was to pass it by. I have mixed feelings on loan sharks, so I'm curious as to why you fluffed over the topic in your interview? I understand that you might not want to have stepped on any toes, but also I sense this is the lighthearted style Steemit interviews seem to take.

A predominant worry in Steemit seems to be not to upset the whales, so I was wondering if you think that this fear is healthy for our growing community, and how we might work to resolve it.

If I was the interviewer my questions for Neoxian would have been a bit different:

1.) At 10-15% interest rate for each loan, about how much do you made off of this venture? Do you take the money home as pay or do you reinvest it in the community? Have you had to "beat up"anyone for reneging on a loan?
2.) What is your opinion on how the ideals of capitalism and business mesh with a decentralized system like Steemit, which purports to values quality over quantity?

Now I don't have a business head and I'm pretty new to Steemit, but I am concerned over the direction Steemit might take if it is run like a capitalist venture rather than a place we can all meet on equal ground. Is this a discussion that is going on in Steemit? Are there any articles out there you can refer me to?

Respectfully Yours..

The goal of the interview was more to have fun and approach it lightly - not to assault someone who makes a living perhaps doing stuff that others may be less than thrilled with.

I have an interview with @Reggaemuffin I also posted which took the same approach, and today i'm posting one with @Aggroed, the leader of PAL/MSP, which ALSO takes a very similar approach in terms of keeping it light, fun, and relaxed.

We are all here to have fun and burn off some "steem" (pun intended) after a long day - not attack each other and get upset over trivial matters.

Hope that answers your question :)

-Panda, aka takes nothing seriously

Dear Mr Panda, for someone who does not take anything seriously, you took my contest entry more seriously than I intended. I was not expecting an answer on it as it was more a bunch of rhetorical questions. I'm sorry if you took offense. if this would have been an actual article instead of a contest i might have been a bit more circumspect. At the same time I did phrase it that way to highlight the burning questions noobs have about steemit that just never get answered. While some people are here to burn off steem, there are quite a few who are here trying to make this their livelihood. I don't particularly wish to offend anyone, but I do wish to understand the kind of platform I am dealing with before I invest a huge chunk of savings. And to me, my money and how I invest my time is far from "trivial". Peace out.

To be successful requires to like what you do, to be passionate with it, to focus on it, to make plans and set targets. Sometimes requires to take risks that most people do not take. Being a little "crazy" helps too. It's obvious that @Neoxian follows this direction and it's no accident that is everyone's favorite resident Loan Shark and SteemIt man-of-money.

CONGRATULATIONS!! :)

only new to the platform, and not sure exactly who @neoxian is, but good concept. there will always be people out there that cant quite make it through til payday, and its good that the gap is filled.

i myself don't loan anything cos i hate to owe, so likely will never partake, but awesome anyway.
