Welcome to round #45 of the Comment Challenge!

I hope you are ready for a new round of the comment challenge. In the round leading up to Christmas, we are giving it a seasonal touch. We are featuring a short Christmas story, and your job will be to deliver a magnificent comment and perhaps share your own story.

I apologise again for a very short post, but it's about a topic important for anyone wanting to deliver interesting and powerful message. It was also not that easy to find a good and recent post linked to Christmas. The post is following the theme of a 50-words writing contest, where the contestants are meant to deliver a short story with no more than 50 words.

Due to the lower steem price I have been forced to reduce the prize money this week. Instead of paying out 5 SBD to the winner, it will be 5 STEEM. The 200 SP delegation for 1 week to the winner and the runner-up will remain as is.

It is important to get followers, but you also want the correct type of followers. Followers that are truly interested in your blog and what you write, and not the โ€œI-follow-you-if-you-follow-meโ€ type. And to attract the right type of followers, you need to write godlike comments.

This challenge is all about writing those comments.

  • In each challenge a post from a fellow minnow will be featured.
  • The challenge is to write an amazing comment related to that post.
  • I will resteem the post.
  • I will give it a 100% upvote.

This will be part of my campaign to help other Minnows. The #minnowsupportproject helped me and I want to help others.

Join the challenge and practice your skills.

Please join the fun! ๐Ÿ’“ ๐Ÿ’“

Please resteem to help promote this challenge!

Tell your friends to come and join.

We will have the following prizes:

  • 2nd prize - 200 SP 1 week delegation.

Rules and conditions

  • The comment should be relevant to the content below in: "Post To Review".
  • Please mind the length of your reply. I don't want to have strict limits, but remember that your task is to write a comment and not a chapter for a book. ;)
  • The entry needs to be written as a comment to this post.
  • Entries limited to one per person.
  • Entries need to be written in English.
  • I will reply to your comment confirming it is a valid entry.
  • The challenge ends Friday morning, 0600 UTC time.
  • The winner will be presented Friday evening, UTC time.
  • The 1st and 2nd Prize will be picked by the judges based purely on quality and their own judgement.
  • If the judges can not reach a consensus, they will each pick one candidate and flip a coin. @dorabot will be used for this in MSP's Discord server.
  • If the winner is not a Minnow, the prize will be split in 2 and the other half paid out to the best Minnow. After all, this is a competition for Minnows, so hopefully that will be fair.
  • A Minnow is someone with less than 5K SP.

Wow! This is a great story with a captivating message. One thing is for sure, no one can rule or control one's thought or imagination no matter how hard one tries. People might try to persuade you, make jest of you, mock you, or even belittle you, but they cant decide how you will react or feel within about it.

@jayna, your level of imagination is so high that you were able to coin a micro-fiction story with a powerful message behind it. Sincerly, this story has inspired and thought me to look beyond what people say. What people say about me or about my life dont define me but what I think about myself.

Confirmed!
Thank you for the comment and Iโ€™m happy to read the story from Jayna gave you inspiration.

Yeah sure it really did and am building on it.

Thank you for the nice compliment, @maxijgcomm. And Iโ€™m so glad you had that take-away from the story. Itโ€™s true โ€” we canโ€™t allow other peopleโ€™s views and ideas to overtake our own.

"Hello, my new friend! I will call you Dave!"
The antennae of the butterfly turned in the direction of the boy, who spoke strange, completely incomprehensible words to her.
"Thanks for letting me rest after a long flight!" The butterfly said to the boy and flew away to the forest.

Confirmed!
Iโ€™m happy to see you tried out micro-fiction. It can be extremely powerful when combined with a matching picture. Well done!

Hi Daniel! Nice to see this contest going still; there can never be too much engagement ;) I loved your choice too; microfiction! Who knew?!
Hope you are doing well :) Here's my response:

How interesting @jayna! I didn't know that microfiction was a thing, but I absolutely love the idea of condensing our writing into something powerful and meaningful in very few words. I guess the key is inference; to infer just enough to trigger meaning for each reader, and you managed to do just that :) Well done! I'll have to check out the contest; does it run weekly?

As an aside, I taught high school for years, and one of my students shared a memory of the year he too wondered about Santa's existence, so he chose to hide behind the couch to see what really went on. He fell asleep, but woke to a noise, peeked around the couch, only to see his father putting presents under the tree. Completely naked ;)

Confirmed!
You never stop surprising me when you show up here, and I'm truly happy when you do. I'm fine thanks, preparing for Christmas vacation at the end of this week. I hope you are doing fine as well.

haha, that is some memory your student shared. Wonder how the father managed to get himself out of that one.

Why thank you! I'm trying to spend more time here because truthfully, I was really missing it, and everyone here of course ... you included :) Christmas vacation sounds lovely too!

I don't think my student ever told his father! He did say he felt very weird Christmas morning, even touching the presents haha

Yes, micro-fiction is a thing! And it's so much fun. It really challenges you to use every single word. I absolutely love it. And um... it's also great for the modern-day limited-time-and-attention-span reader. :-)

hahaha that's so true! When we're hard pressed to have people read a full twitter posting, micro-fiction might be the way to go :)

Which is not to say that people don't read longer work. Books and bookstores are alive and well. But a blogging platform is different!

In spite of being a very short story, it leaves a lot to say ... imagination is the most wonderful thing that we all have, in our mind we can visualize everything we want and we can have great experiences ... the child of history, knew how to use his imagination and why his sister's comment did not affect him ... Never stop using our imagination, because even in moments of sadness, our imagination can make us happy for a moment.

Congratulations Blessed-Girl!
Thank you for being with us this round and I wish you a lovely weekend.

Thaaaaaaaaaank youuuuuuuu!!!!

Lol...

Confirmed!
Thank you for being the first contestant this week. :)

Thank you for reading my story, @blessed-girl. Thatโ€™s a wonderful take-away โ€” that we must always keep our imagination because it can bring us joy in times of sadness.

Here is my participation in Steemit Comment Challenge #45. Thank you, @danielsaori, for giving us the opportunity to share our interpretation of this beautiful and suggestive story.

I think it's a great microfiction exercise, @jayna. Your very short story condenses the meaning, which the reader must unfold, in the image of the child looking out the window, and his resistance in thought to the impertinent words of his coarse sister. Contemplating the visual spectacle offered by the outside through the glass and the sensation of the cold snow corroborates the possibility of imagining the arrival of Santa Claus, because imagination is like a glance that escapes, that flies. Childhood is endowed with that capacity of elevation and free transformation that is imagination. Fictional and poetic creation is one of the forms that survives in us.

Confirmed!
Thank you for the comment and your great reflections.

Thanks so much for reading the story and offering your thoughts in @danielsaoriโ€™s contest. You have an interesting way with words!

The boy saw how Gypsies stole Santa's sleigh, deer and bags with gifts. "It's okay, after all, the Gypsies also have small children!" "I can give Santa my bike! Heโ€™s with a big basket on the trunk!" He watched for a long time after Santa, who ran after the sleigh.

Confirmed!
Happy to have you here and great you followed the advice making a post out of it.
Can you please explain tsigane?! and the Gypsies, Iโ€™m not really getting that.

Btw, sorry for the delay. I wrote this reply a couple of days back but it was stuck on my phone... ๐Ÿ˜Š

Thank you very much, I did not see this typo, right - Gypsies

I like Davey, he's a little tough guy! He didn't let her sister to influence him and on what he wants to belive in. At the end he had much more power than his sister, he decided that his imagination belongs only to him. Davey despite he's still a child already knows who he is and what he wants. I'd be curios to read a 500 words version to understand more about the two characters and if @jayna got the inspiraton from reality, maybe she was the overbearing sister in her childhood ;)
here I gave a try to her recent Weekly 50-word short story contest

Confirmed!
Indeed Davey seems like an independent and tough guy. No way his sister will tell him whatโ€™s true or not. ๐Ÿ˜‰

thank you, we are running a little contest if you like you can join Guess again

Such a clever challenge, @danielsaori! Thank you very much for choosing my story as the subject. I am really honored! Fifty-word short stories are a lot of fun, and more challenging than you'd think. The idea is to create something complete and satisfying to read in exactly 50 words.

I run a contest each week to encourage people to try it (the tag is #fiftywords). I also write at least one each week. It's really fun to see these little stories take shape, come to life, and create an impact.

Yes, i can imagine it being tricky to get exactly 50 words. Itโ€™s a very interesting concept for a contest and easy for someone, who is new to fiction writing, to try out. What do you do if someone makes it with 49 words? ๐Ÿ˜‰

You donโ€™t want to know! Ha ha, just kidding. To be eligible to win the contest, the story must be exactly 50 words. But I only run a count on the top contenders. ๐Ÿ˜Š

I think I will check out the contest and give it a try.

@danielsaori I know the contest is over, but still want to give a try and my only qualification is that I am a minnow. That's it.

His sister was unable to make an impact because his belief is so strong. And became a reason behind the SUSTENANCE of his thought.

@jayna Little story, but a huge impact. Your micro-fiction caused a macro-friction between illusion and reality in Davey's mind as well as ours!

Hello and thank you for passing by.

Unfortunately it's a bit late for this round, but I hope you will have time to join the next one. It will be released Sunday the 30th.

@danielsaori, thanks for the concern and information as well.
