Recently, in addition to a master class in watercolor, I went to a master class on drawing markers. I took my daughter with me because I want her to learn how to draw with markers. The topic was fruit. We drew oranges. I haven't decided yet whether I want to draw with markers further because they are too expensive and also I have to buy many colors... But I got an interesting experience, and my daughter after the master class began to draw a lot.

Night howled down as trees swayed and clouds swirled low over a landscape undulating in outline and whitened. In the distance a wolf raised its being to the moon. Snow-flakes flurried around a little fire trying to rob the crackling spitting life from it. The dried branch broke with a loud snap then the man threw the pieces onto the flames which devoured them hungrily, sparks rose heavenward. A stone’s throw away was a log cabin, it rose out of the cold ground like a dark monster. The man was talking to himself as he huddled beside the fire’s heat.

Let your feeling of selflessness come naturally. For when someone accepts your help, you are given a wonderful opportunity to grow in compassion and gain grace. And the big payoff - God will reward you in Heaven with that exact same thing you have done on earth. I for one, faces a constant struggles and challenges due to my son's predicament (as most of you knew that he is disabled - He has an Epileptic Cerebral Palsy and has in weaned tantrums which makes it hard to handle but as I reflect on my situation, I came to know that I am also a SURVIVOR.

One of my favorite periods of time each year is when figs ripen on the tree (Ficus carica) in the back yard. I have always loved figs and have fond memories of eating homemade fig preserves made by various women in my family. Aunt Carrie, my mother's sister, in particular was remembered for this. The man across the street from her had a huge fig tree that bore a lot of fruit each year. If I remember correctly, he did not eat the figs, himself, but he definitely shared them with folks in his neighborhood.

To me this is a profound statement which struck me right in my spirit when I first heard it! We all have regrets for past actions and wish like crazy that we could go back and change just one statement or one bad choice. But don't get stuck there. It will paralyze you and hinder your progress toward fulfilling the calling which has been laid out for
you.

This month has proven to be a difficult one as so many emotional events arose. A lot personal ones that I cannot share on a public platform but there is something that I want to share as there is an interesting thing that happens during these emotional roller coaster. During this month of august (dear Lord it's not even done), I have felt anger, frustration, stress, sadness, overwhelming emotions, feelings of suffocation, loss of breath and restraint. Some were happy moments and a feeling of success and freedom.

I'm serious!!! You can't just buy one leek!!! They're sold in bunches. What are these things anyway??? I guess they're some kind of big giant onion. They're huge! You can buy one onion, but not one LEEK! You have to buy the whole bunch. Did you ever see a recipe that calls for a bunch of leeks? I think NOT!

Anyone that knows me or is familiar with my blog knows that I love my sport and I am particularly passionate about the teams that I support. Week on week the performance and results of these teams tend to dictate my daily mood. I have had the idea of documenting the trials and tribulations of following my sporting teams, to share the stress and see whether it can give me a little therapy and, in turn, give you guys maybe a few laughs and an insight into my temporary insanity.
