I would like to introduce you to an idea that has sprouted.

• What it is

I just created this site on February 9, 2018.

• so it is still basically a framework at this point.

Why #jabi4Steemit ?

The other day I was posting and commenting on a few steemit posts...

• Planting some idea seeds along the line of...
  • Facebook sucks
    • But they are the defacto social media network.
  • Commenting on this post, I mentioned it would be great if Steemit had a way to do collaborative pages.
    • along the lines of wiki pages.
    • Aggregate a bit of knowledge from a lot of people and you create a defacto authority on nearly any subject.
  • Commenting on the Steemit Roadmap 2018 post,
    • I mentioned... When I first stumbled upon the Internet back in '95 I saw it would do 2 things:
      • Connect people to people
      • Connect people to information
    • and I mentioned some ideas that might improve the Steemit user experience...
      • Perhaps a community whiteboard (More or less a wiki page where anyone can edit, add and delete info)
      • Perhaps a community FAQ, where questions that continually come up can be answered once and then people referred to the FAQ when they ask that same question next week...
      • Perhaps a community links page. There is a lot of good information out on the web that will never become part of steemit. People and companies have invested billions of hours and money creating content that steemit citizens should have easy access to.

After a couple of days of my mind multitasking, thinking about those seeds I had planted...

• the idea sprouted in my head.
  • yes, it will be great if and when Steemit evolves to include those things...
    • But I have been a Webmaster for over 20 years now
  • So I know how to provide those things to the community
• knowing and hoping they will only be temporary,
  until Steemit or a Steemit connected app/site is providing them.

We truly believe Steemit has created an opportunity.

• Make money for posting quality self-created content
• Make money for curating posts
  • That basically means upvoting and promoting quality content you like.

But please note this sad fact of life…

Steemit reminds me of my network marketing days…

• It sounds intriguing to a lot of people…
  • Who will waste a lot of time and effort for zero reward.
• They will search for and read all kinds of 'this is how to succeed on steemit' articles.
  • but they don't have what it takes to succeed
• That may sound harsh, but it shouldn't.
  • Those people can still "profit" from this platform
    • as it grows and becomes the defacto social network.

This The Likelihood of MLM Success article states…

In the first year of operation, a minimum of 50% of representatives drop-out.
After five years of operation, a minimum of 90% of representatives have left the company.
By year 10, only those at or near the top have not dropped out – making it safe to say at least 95% of representatives have dropped out.

IMHO, To become the defacto social media platform, steemit needs to

focus more on the 95% who will drop out when they realize they likely won't make a dime.

• yet who will gladly be "customers" if offered the best of the best social networking platform.
  

Which group will you be in?
