Hey You... How Bad Do You Want It?

in #steemit7 years ago (edited)

With thousands of new minnows wanting to be whales, really the only question is... How bad do you want it?

Let's face it, we all want to be whales. Even people that we consider whales want to be killer whales, but we all want to get bigger. On Steemit it is totally possible for someone to start out with nothing and grow into an account value of around $250K in two years, but that is rare.

We are seeing Steemit's user base growing and producing great content and by this time next summer, many people on here right now could be whales and carry a lot of influence on this site.

You can do it, literally, you can put in the work and by next summer be in a position to be a full-time Steemonian. Sure the valuation of STEEM will factor in, but lets just say it is around the same price next year. $1.50. You could still be a full-time Steemonian.

It really comes down to how bad you want it.

Everyday I get replies from people like me who have been here less than a month and trying to learn all they can about how to grow and improve. They are focusing on adding value and many are using this knowledge to help grow their blossoming career.  If you put in the work and take the time to learn, you can do it.

How do I know? Because my goal is to be able to go full time by next summer.  I think it is realistic, and a goal I will enjoy trying to reach.

I get that posting good content can be tough, I struggle coming up with ideas like everyone else but I'm committed.

Maybe you don't want to go full-time, you just want to build up more crypto by engaging with people. That is great, but you can maximize that by putting in the work to reply to a minimum of 25 posts a day. If you add great value and insight you will move up quick.

If you read that much content you will eventually be able to start writing good content too.

It just comes down to what you want and how bad you want it.

So, where do you want to be in a year and how bad do you want it? Let me know in the comments below.

To my followers, you are the elastic in my underwear! You hold me up!

All true stuff. You said acct valuation to $250K in two years...that can happen in one. :)
STEEMIT started a little over a year ago, so with users that started a year ago, a lot of them do have those really high valued accounts. I saw one user at 360K.
I ponder this frequently. No one on here a year ago saw that coming. IMO. I recently was kind of depressed about a dip in earnings on here, but having joined only the first of June WTH is my problem. Lol

I agree, but that is still pretty ambitious, but I totally agree.
I am glad you have your focus back and good perspective because you are a valuable asset to this community!!! Thanks for reading and the great reply.

Oh god yes it is. I'd be thrilled to have a mere fraction of that!
Thanks for the encouragement btw.

I agree. And I have done a ton of research in my 6 weeks or so here, and I see that even with good content, we still need to stake a claim with steem power. Then, the followers and more steem will come. So, the keys are to invest and buy Steem and convert to Steem Power, delivering quality posts, enjoying other posts, commenting, upvoting, and resteeming. Also, be creative and don't be here only for the money.

You are 100% correct. The only thing I might ad is consistency. It's got to be everyday. Somehow, some way I am able to find time to dedicate to Steemit in the summer, and I will be about to double down in the winter when there are less family activities. You are so right though. I'm here and I want to grow, and add as much value as possible, so it isn't about the money for me, but... since I am making a little here and there, I want to learn how to maximize it and figure out a way I can do what I am loving to do more often!!! Thank you so much for the great reply.

I'd like to at least begin to make solid supplemental income on here. I don't know how realistic it is but I know my content is quality. What things for you personally have you identified that suggest you could be full time by next summer? Insight would be appreciated highly.

Great question.

  1. Pacing... I have been here one month tomorrow. I have posted 3-5 blogs almost every day. At least 2 a day on the days I missed which were few. That pace is something I can replicate so my first month is my base. I know my followers will slow and my value may fluctuate, but I still have figured out about how much SBD and SP I can generate each month and I am actively looking for way to increase that. At the current pace I am at, even with the slowdown of followers I will see an ongoing increase in my SP as I convert everything to SP. That will get my curation rewards up and over the course of a year, I should be able to generate around 75K-$150K depending on the value of STEEM.
  2. Tenacity... I sleep very little, I work very hard and I run my own business so I can take the schedule I need to make Steemit work for me. That is what I am trying to do. I want to get to that point and if I give myself a year, and I still want it this bad in December, and March and then in May, I bet I will be doing this full time and picking up some clients on the side to make extra money so I won't have to pull money out of Steemit.
  3. Extra... I am looking at doing a Steemit training and tutorial class and a podcast for Steemit to help create content and to help generate additional income. I have a couple things I also have planned around Steemit that might help me really set up roots here. It isn't just a hope and a prayer, I've got a plan. I hope that helps.

In one year's time, i want to be a whale. Yes, #realtalk a whale.
I want to boost and upvote quality content regardless of nationality, followers, length of post, topic, whether a minnow/dolphin/whale.

And yes i want it bad. I want to encourage people especially the minnows like me to make great content, something that comes deep within their heart, full of desire. Not just a post that aims to get attention or to suction out upvotes from fellow Steemians.

@walkingkeys, being the elastic in your underwear is an honor.

I Know with the attitude you have and the passion you have been putting forward, you have a great chance to be there. We both do and I can't wait to celebrate with you!!!!

I'm glad you picked up on the last line... I'm going to try to make each blog post have one that is unique and funny hopefully. lol

I picked up the last line too. I guffawed.

lol, what is guffawed?

It is the same thing as a chortle.

Me right now:

As usual, loved reading it. And sure, I would like to be a millionaire by the end of 2018 :P
