What is the best message you can write to someone new on Steemit who has just posted on the ‘introduceyourself’ tag? - ecoTrain Question of the Week
We all came here for the same thing, there is no lie for that and there isn't a way to sugar coat it. The money speaks at the end of the day. But there is something more to money on the blockchain and if one is to look purely for money here, hed waste the potential of steemit.
The power of people
Steemit might be about gain, but behind that gain sit many people with good hearts. Building friendships and joining communities like ecotrain go way beyond followers.
If you look at my profile in spectacles you should be able to see that out of all the 850 followers I have, only 200 have made any contact with my blog. So 650 people just pressed the follow button and never opened the profile :)
Steemit is about building friendships and having a great time with people around the world, it's about making projects come to life and having fun and some profit doing it!
Contests
The best thing to do if you are a newcomer is to participate in some neat contests to get some SP and make a name for yourself.
Sadly people are more valued for their SP on steemit, but that has its good points too because the people that keep building SP are the future investors in a better community.
Store SP and make a name for yourself and the rest will follow, that is the main mechanic that works with time. Everything else is temporary.
Quality comments
Leaving quality comments show people that you have interest in their work. One thing that I want to share that has helped me over the time is thus:
Don't comment if you feel that you are forcing yourself. Better upvote and let it bee, forcing yourself to comment on stuff you can't is just going to make a bad image.
Commenting is also the fastest way to gain followers because people can see you and see your work.
Upvotes
One thing I didn't do when I started was using the upvote button. Having no SP means you can let it rip and make countless upvotes per day. This is will surely get you a follower or two at least.
Overall
Honestly, there isn't much I can say relating to advice. The best advice would be " Be yourself" and the rest will follow.
