"SteemGigs Witness" Is Setting Up Budget Steemit Events In Any City Or Nation, By Virtue Of The Power Of The Steemgigs Community!
One core aspect of #steemgigs is to showcase the power of community as an alternative to steem power, SBDs etc. We want to spark up movements, solely based on the power of the steemit community. We want to be testimony to the fact, that the steemit community in its wealth and depth, is the most revolutionary aspect of steem technology and it, in itself, can effect movements in the real world.
There is evidence to this:
- 1. Books, foods, clothes attributed to steemit.com where donated to charities in different cities some months back by virtue of the steemgiggers like @thatsweeneyguy and @inphiknit and inspired by #steemgigs.
- 2. A steemit.com wooden library has been completed in a certain city driven by the creativity of one of our popular steemgiggers @drpuffnstuff
There has been clamor for a @steemgigs interface for long now. However, our vision is broader and beautifuller than an interface's capacity, thus, we stubbornly decide to pace things, going the harder route of building community and reaching 5,000 steemit-community-driven steemgigs posts.
Ofcourse an interface will help matters and it will be revolutionary indeed but we decided to accomplish more, by going the community-route.

Budget Sponsored Steemit Meet-ups
In the last steemit meetup in Manila, it became obviouser, how powerful this meetups are in terms of steemit growth.
Similar to how #steemgigs was set up to accomplish steemit growth by strengthening our base/existing steemit community, it was evident once again that regular steemit events in cities round the world is essential to organic steemit growth.
Identifying the human behind the steemian by seeing them in person, strengthens your conviction in steemit, among other things.
Besides; strategic steemit meetups improve awareness to steemit and results in potential sign ups.
Thus, we are adding a new branch to @steemgigs, that will improve the number of steemit events in the real world.
We want steemit events to be made possible in any country and city. We will accomplish this even remotely by the power of the #steemgigs community. Basically, we want steemit events to arise in various cities and on a budget!
This is where a community of talents in the steemgigs community will come in.
We will basically brainstorm these possibilities in IDEA FACTORY and cook up ways to effect these events effectively, even on a low budget.
"Everyone has something to offer".
Steemit events do cost SBDs but this will pay dividend in the long run.
The power of community lies in being able to collaborate in concerted effort tied to a singular vision!
Hence, the core people of the steemgigs team will help us in raising money by means of steemit posts, donations and other creative methods.
We will be talking to @merej99 @stellabelle @sykochica @kus-knee @virtualgrowth @officialfuzzy @adsactly @papa-pepper and many others and accomplish ways to raise funds.
We want steemit events to be hostable even on the tightest budgets and this is where the steemgigs community will come in!
Our steemgigs community will apply their expertise in places where money can't reach e.g in creating promotional banners, brainstorming ideas, etc "everyone has something to offer".
Our "steemgigs" witness will also look for sponsorship to add to the budget, once a sum has been raised.
Like airbnb, budget meals etc, we will inspire these steemit events into life, making do with whatever resource we can gather. @jacobts will help the team with improvisation as well as me.
@looftee will also play a role, along with others like @luvabi @cloh76 @oluwoleolaide etc, depending on the country or city in question.
Current Budget Steemit Events in the pipeline
1. Brindocorp's ISDEV Hackathon August 24- 26. "I will represent steemit by having an online presence via Skype". We are also discussing with @steem-lagos to see if they can have presence at the event!
2. Steemit meetup Lagos. "Date is tentative and still under discussion" with @oluwoleolaide and his team.
3. @abdelaziz indicated interested in having a steemit event done in Morocco and we will consider looking into it!
How Do We Conclude On Events To Undertake?
These budget steemit events can be set up in any city in the world.
To spark up a budget steemit event in your city, kindly start by join us on the Steemgigs Community on Discord.
Then write a short proposal post stating the following:
- Why you choose your city
- How many steemians you know from your city and enlist some of them
- Expected budget
- Some additional facts e.g whether a steem event has taken place there, who will attend, potential attendees etc
- Your expected budget and necessities
- Size of the event
- etc
If you are very new on steemit yet an advocate for a budget steemit event in your city, you will need to find a representative from your city or nation who has a high reputation or who has been longer here on steemit, to talk to us.
We will have committee decide on which proposals to undertake.
Representatives of each budget steemit event may also need to play roles in organization, steemit posts, communication etc

With this kind of engagement we can create many new communities and grow very healthy into the titan we all hope is within Steem. When we work together and help to create local communities than that will spread like a hayfire and the hive power will begin to do its magic. Would be great to create something here in Costa Rica.

If we only introduced steemit to the Filipino people the right way (I don't know how it is, Filipino are skeptical). In fact, social networking is one of the most active web activities in the Philippines and Filipinos spend more time on social media that anyone else in the world.

I from alabang muntinlupa, actually I always on the go conducting training for my company. In fact i am at cebu now and I also gave a quick overview to steemit
We can chat! Are the some older Cebu-based steemians. Meetups don't need be expensive. Key thing though is how steemit is presented but i can always come in on that in a telepresence!

Yes, absolutely this. The more we are able to organize as a group, the better we will become as an online community. Steems brand will hopefully end up being a decentralized but caring community that curates for the betrerment of the platform.
We do this, people will be giving up other media sources in heaps.
