The Steem Engine – A Choosy Curation group, I didn’t Make the Cut.
You may think this is going to be something negative, but not at all! I didn’t make the ‘cut’ for ‘The Steem Engine’ curation group. Why? Read on.
I discovered this group of curators via someone I follow, @daan thanks for the information!
First of all this is not related to @steemengineteam or steemengine.net. Similar names, but not the same.
There appears to be many voting groups and BOTS on Steemit all with similar names but this one seems a little different. Here you need to prove yourself worthy. Yes I know you are all thinking ‘Waynes World’ now, aren’t you?
To become a member of ‘The Steem Engine’ you must first apply here:

After 24-48 hours you will be accepted or rejected. The guys running the show will look at your content and deem you worthy or otherwise.
So I was refused and I think it was simply because I’m too new to Steemit, but maybe its other factors. @catweasel I think is interested and I need prove myself a good curator. Maybe this article will swing it for me.
So why should I care?
I like the way it works. The articles posted in the discord channel are not numerous and are of good quality. It seems to attract the kind of people I want to meld with. This is not a post and run scheme.
To post your article in the ‘baggage-car_post-promotion’ channel you first must upvote and provide a thoughtful comment on at least two other previously shared posts in that channel.
This ensures that people will look at your content and reciprocate. Is this a good idea? I think it is and I still want in. I just need to change the ‘cat’s mind!
I looked at some of the articles and they are indeed very good. I did comment, engage and up-vote at least one article this BEFORE I applied, such was the quality I found.
The Steem Engine also provides an update service similar to the one at ‘Peace, Abundance, Liberty’ (https://discord.gg/HYj4yvw) , though again its just for members. It does not have the power of the former service but these are early days and it can only grow stronger given good support.

I'm taking you as my "good authority" on what you're intending to do. I think that's as close as I'll ever come to reading the mind of @catweasel. (Dear God, listen to me. What mind? Huh? What mind?)
Now whether you follow through or not is always a surprise. (I make a pretty good side-income laying wagers on those outcomes. I have to admit I cheat though. If I hear snoring before five minutes have passed, I know you'll never remember what you were doing when you wake up again. So the poor sod is screwed. On the other hand, if I hear munching ... I know he's in with a chance. As long as your greasy fingers don't slide off the keys while you're typing.)
So, no I haven't been mixing my meds. I barely remember to take all my regular pills ... as you very well know. You yell at me about it every night when I say ... "Crap, I didn't take my pills yet today."
Still, I keep waking up to face another day -- (and you again.) Isn't that surprising?
And no, I don't trust you for one bloomin' minute. I've lived with you for years, remember? (Soon I'll be able to write "decades.") One thing for sure ... I know what you're like. So don't try to fool me ... again.
