Good day Steemian welcome to today's Steem price update for 5/4/2019 I have been posting the Steem price update since almost the very beginning of Steemit.com many have came here to discuss the daily Steem price's and changes for just over 2 years now.

I also want to mention just incase your wondering when perhaps something doesn't seem normal from the other regular Price update posts that the daily Steem price posts do occasionally change it's format from time to time.

But regardless of changes we will carry on as usual and by this I mean knowing the price of Steem as it's important for your daily plan or strategy and honestly even if you are not planing to do anything with your Steem I still recommend checking out these updates and keeping an eye on the price, so without further ado lets take a look at today's Daily Steem Price Change for 5/4/2019

Should you be trading with Steem today...?

Thank you and to everybody else who gave their support on getting us to dolphin we achieved this after 30 months. I'm sure once the price goes up higher it will be more beneficial to us all. Now then on March 10th we have seen Steem reach it's highest for the year at $0.55 along with SBD's which also had a breaker on March 13th with it's highest being $1.41. With Bitcoins it's been going upwards for over a week, around 3 days ago we had a upwave taking Bitcoins from $4127 to $4885! And if you think that was good well it didn't stop with Bitcoins reaching $5000 2 days ago. The highest for Bitcoins which was also achieved 2 days ago was 5317! Yesterday we had a downwave taking it down to $4872 right now Bitcoin's is fighting for $5000. With Steem as you know we beat the January high now marking our highest at $0.55 which we got close to again lately. We was holding nicely above $0.45 but we fell just under but we seem to be rising again, our ranking position is around #47 amongst all the other cryptos. With Bitcoins and it's downwave it still come to a surprise for many people that yesterday we were close to $0.45 again as the downwave was nowhere near $4000. We started today at $0.46 and to no surprise it took no time at all to reach $0.47 from there it was quiet until about ⏰03.15 when Steem hit $0.48. It continued at $0.48 until around ⏰11.25 and we could already see that today was one of those up-trending day's and so at ⏰12.50 it bumped above the $0.50 mark to $0.51. There was another upbump at ⏰15.35 and lastly the highest for today $0.53 which was close to beating our highest at ⏰18.15. Anyway if nothing much will happen for Steem in 2019 which is slowly looking more doubtful then I hope those who are still in the game will take the opportunity to keep collecting because right now we are in a seriously good place to grow our accounts remember as the price goes up higher collecting actual Steem becomes more difficult. I also want to make it clear that I was apparently wrong in pulling the trigger too fast that we was out of survival mode, it seems according to Steem INC they still found themselves to be in survival mode but now we are officially crawling out. But longer in survival mode the conclusion from all this is to continue cutting of the costs of nodes. Hivemind is now live the "steemd" instance size's went from 488GB RAM to now shockingly 61GB RAM! Focus is on a multi index RocksDB adapter which is a new technology in development to allow the Steem blockchain nodes to store almost all of it's necessary data to a disk in a modern database instead of RAM, this move will make nodes cheaper. Ned also said that the cost reduction progress will still remain above the creation of SMT's which I feel is the right move. Did you know that after the wallet split from steemit.com is complete that both logged in and non-logged in users will see the adds on Steemit.com, I would rather not but understand this is part of keeping us out of survival mode if that was to happen again. It's also come to my attention people are still learning about the wallet split and feel this will continue to be a problem for a while so please have your keys backed-up, yes ALL of them and dont use your masterkey to log into Steemit.com, also when you click on your wallet yes you will be directed to a completely different website which should be "steemitwallet.com" please dont worry as this website is safe and part of Steemit.com. After your initial log-in you wont need to use your masterkey and so if you still don't understand how your private keys work or are relatively new to Steemit you can go to the Steemitblog account for a more recent official explanation. For SBD's they broke record March 13th reaching $1.41. Currently SBD's are at a "slightly higher" pegged rate, yup SBD's are back again and seem to be holding a little better so hopefully it wont slip down so fast. SBD's started today nicely at $1.04 with a clear view that it was going up and it continued to do this until ⏰03.35 reaching $1.07 it then fell back down to $1.03 at ⏰06.45 which was slightly surprising. But it made up for this by making it's way upwards at ⏰12.45 it reached higher $1.08, later ⏰15.45 until around ⏰20.00 we saw alot of $1.09.
