STEEMIT Is A Ponzi Scheme - Refuted! (continued...)
This post is a continuation of my post, STEEMIT Is A Ponzi Scheme - Refuted!
User James Bond decided to call me out on @bitcoinmeister YouTube channel in a manner resembling how people organize a drug or alcohol intervention: "I'm really worried about him... he's into this Steemit thing!"
I figured: rather than having this back-and-forth be completely fruitless, I should post it on Steemit so the community can fortify themselves against the typical arguments lobbed against this platform, and perhaps discuss best practices concerning discussions about Steemit elsewhere online.
Here is the convo, which can be seen in the comments section for this video:
I really do think this is a case of cognitive dissonance. The arguments that James uses to define Steemit as a Ponzi scheme would apply to Bitcoin equally, but Bitcoin is something that he likes, so OF COURSE Bitcoin isn't a Ponzi... but Steemit is... but Bitcoin isn't... but Steemit is... but... but... but... [cognitive dissonance feedback loop]
Thoughts?

Like I always tell people: "If you don't like it don't use it". The blockchain brings the gift of choice. Some people hate Dogecoin. I still use it daily to save on fees. One man's shitcoin is another man's treasure. In the end the people win :)
oh, totally. That's how I usually explain bitcoin to people: it's simply an option for people who want to opt-out. Steemit is the same, but making acquiring those funds sooooo easy and fun.
Good Doge!

Anything goes in the comments section of my videos! I have now made the big time if comments from my videos are now being shown as screen shots here! :)
Yep! But you were already big time.
The surprising thing to me was that he called me out unprompted. Like, you even mentioned a steemit post of mine in the video itself, and he still prefaced the question how he did: "you do know Shayne is promoting a Ponzi…?"
I don't like that lol
Then he asks me what I think of Steemit? He has been in so many of my live chats, does he even pay attention to one word I say? I am going to reply over there when I have time...
Steemit is certainly not a ponzi scheme. Steemit doesn't even need new people coming in. You only need a a healthy and predictable inflation rate. That's all.
I can't claim to fully understand all the economics, but I know what a Ponzi is, and Steemit simply doesn't fit the criteria.
LOL - and while he was saying that we were making a few thousand more $ from Steem :) - Remember when James Bond was really cool?
007 is the man!
Beyond style
Now why are you hanging out with tossers like that "James Bond" guy? - I wonder if he is an employee at a Bangladesh cubical farm paid $2 an hour to say things like ponzi scheme and Monsanto Roundup is safe...
Ask him this:
If you have 0 funds and want to be able to earn Bitcoin, where would you start?
Great question to keep on file! Thanks.
