Why SBD might be worth a punt these days
Fundamentally, I clearly prefer Steem over Steem Backed Dollars. I think that Steem is heavily undervalued and that the network will continue to grow - and with it the Steem price.
Nonetheless, crypto currency markets are more volatile these days than ever before and in the short term I have no clue if the markets will continue to tank. This is why I think that Steam Backed Dollar (SBD) might be worth a short term punt. Here is why:
I think that the development of Smart Media Tokens will be a great value driver for the Steem blockchain. I have no idea when they will become available, but if they do, ICOs will be possible on the Steem blockchain. And to participate in the ICOs you will need to pay in Steem - or in SBD. Seeing that the currency most used for up vote bots is SBD I think it will most likely become the preferred options for ICOs.
SBD is meant to be worth 1 USD. While this is still some way to go down, I think the downside might be lower in the short term than for SBDs.
Upvote bots have become the quasi necessity to show up on the trending pages. For this people prefer to use SBD. Given that they tend to gain in importance I think that the SBD has a strong utility.
