Except, they wrap their outright rude comments in a facade of positivity to attempt controlling a frame that makes you look like the asshole if you challenge them.

3 months of consistently posting here on steemit, I've come to know to know the trolls or I don't know, some people who masked their comments as positive. Kind of easy to detect if you to read between the lines.

Would you believe that even a cheery and positive category such as travel would even attract such trolls? But then my writings are kind of mixed with my own point of view about culture, politics and social issues as I go around and observe the world. Honest and not giving a shit, so I preserved my anonymity for a reason. If you expose your background, you'd even be more prone to trolls. Given the nature of humans.

The best way is to not give them the attention they need. Good thing there are not a lot of trolls around here due to the downvote and rewards system. Just posers.

many different aspects to the dynamic... trolls are likely to float around seeking a source - doesn't matter to them what the topic is, if they can milk a person's emotional reactions for that high they're seeking.

re: anonymity vs. transparency - I'd say there is no absolute there, and it'd depend on the person. I've valued full transparency, have nothing to hide, and if any trolls want to attempt picking a fight, they'll be quickly running away when they realize they can't win. but that's me. could be different for other people who don't know how to most wisely respond to trolls in a way that denies them what they're seeking and calls them out on the bullshit...

I truly welcome the sort of subjects post here. A debt of feeling is therefore as for sharing us of America a fantastic information that is very useful. Great day!

ha ha. I'm guessing English isn't your first language. not totally sure exactly what you were trying to say, however I can feel the positive intention and the flow is quite beautiful, even if not making full sense... :-)

This is a difficult topic to tackle, I am grateful for your efforts.

"We're all human. And we're all probably dicks at some point or another." Though I refrained, I almost lost it today on steemit.chat. I am glad I did not. I've always tried to take the high road, but there are those days when dick mode is hard not to fall into

sometimes, we fall and fail. valuable to exercise some patience and compassion for ourselves as we do. and then, even in those failures, sometimes there are unforeseen benefits and reasons beyond ourselves for them - playing out roles for others to gain valuable reflections. and sometimes people deserve it - and such reactions could even be a gift to let them know the effect they're having on others. each case is its own...

Great Post and Thanks for the comment on my page!

Thanks.

Though in the spirit of remaining honest, I gotta say it might be seen as slightly manipulative to try reel people in to vote and comment on your page by thanking them for it before they've actually done it.

Busted.

Thanks for writing about this, it's an important topic! Great post :)

your welcome, and thanks for the feedback. 🙏

It is merely a reflection of a society becoming less tame. Tame is not a word I am used to using. A society I face on the streets today is not what I faced 25 years ago. The wilderness has crept upon us from all sides. It must be stopped wherever it can be stopped. Am I watching some old creepy prophecy being fulfilled? I don't believe in that stuff but lately I have given it a thought or two. Steemit being censorship resistant will always allow behavior that may be extreme. I simply will use it as another metric to determine what may happen next, like a predictive algorithm. Great post.

mmm... complex topic to tackle...

of course, there are always people with different maturity levels. perhaps a relaxation of enforcement of societal norms has lowered the barriers for many to be more vocal - and some of that may seem extreme. I wouldn't agree that it's anything that needs to be stopped, though - such people raising their voices might ruffle a few feathers, though really doesn't pose any threat. if anything it poses the opportunity to mature - perhaps in part, providing reflections to see where parts of ourselves need to evolve beyond what such voices reveal about where we're at, and then perhaps part as character tests of how we shall best respond to such people, who may be in need of a little assistance in their process of maturation.

and while the censorship-resistant piece might give some people the sense of free reign to make asses of themselves - the broader dynamic is conducive to the growth of a culture valuing respect, integrity, and cooperation. assholes can be vocal. but really, they just end up proving themselves to be assholes. and sooner or later, they're probably come to a realization that strategy doesn't work anymore - while providing others the contrastive example of what is and isn't the type of conduct one ought to aspire to as a member of the community.

or some shit. ha ha.

You are a very optimistic and tolerant man. I like that

Great to see the you put up with no twaddle in your replies.. ))

bullshit is like a virus. without being checked, there's little stopping it from running rampant.

I don't expect for 'the offenders' to change their viewpoints and have no intentions of trying to prove them wrong, but at least by sharing such perspective on the entire dynamic, others who are receptive and committed to standards of integrity may be better equipped with their own anti-virus updates... :-)

Must admit, pretty impressed with the straightness of some of your replies.. Sets a good example..

someone's gotta take a stand against bullshit, or it will continue to get propagated like a virus...

"You Rock" .. Roc :-) Waiting to see or hear some of your music posts..))

You have very good points about losing the battle before stepping on the field and hurt people hurt people the other one that comes to mind is do not feed the trolls.

This was a true delight to read, I don't remember reading such level of self reflection in a long time.
I guess I would have replied - Thank you, kind sir, for your constructive criticism. Namaste.
But that would be right on the same troll level. I guess I love satire too much to let such a perfect opportunity go. :D

Anyway, I'll try not to get into self reflection of why I'd level with a troll, because I think you've done some nice reflective points for both of us.

Have a nice day.

(My mind is going on a reflective journey now anyway, even though it's not quite the time for it. I have to put a side-note to write about forced kindness that has that level on not being genuine, and not completely fake either so that you could call someone out on it, but when you know they've really struggled to get to that place and it feels.. just wrong.. anyway, I'm rambling. Sorry. I should get ready to work anyway )
