Merry Christmas Everyone

This is in response to a comment i received on my last post that i think needs attention to now and for weeks to come!!!

!! Im glad to know that im doing better! Thank you for your input once again :)

So im curious is there a chart somewhere that states the degree of how we can use the bots to upvote? Maybe 5 minutes of work = a 5 sbd value on your post?

I find it funny that i come accross posts that have just as much effort or less that have the same vote value but no one says a thing. Why is that? Maybe if i had more steem power i could do the same?

Dont get me wrong i value your input and i value you for what your trying to do. Just like when i talked to you last time i changed what i did. I apologize for not taking the degree of effort that i needed for the value of my post that was upvoted by bots. I didn't even realize this was a thing....

I mainly use the bots for my followers and their curation rewards. By any means its not for the author rewards because by the time you deduct the steem that you sent to them you usually end up in the negative or earn a few steem at most!

I want to see Steemit and Steem succeed more then anyone especially since i put my side gig money into it.

I have a perfect post to do now and can talk for hours about it!!! Ill probably wait a week since every post i have will be probably be down voted and i would end up having a negative rating but it would be QUALITY CONTENT that i probably wouldn't end up making a dime off of.

So this week don't worry about any of my new posts being upvoted by bots by me or any of my other accounts! They can be used on some of those other accounts that no one says anything about.

As far as the community is concerned i think they see what the real issue is and thats not me!

So for this week i will be working on that post of what the real issue is!!!

I hope everyone has A Merry Christmas

I will be giving away 2 Steem to someone that commented below (random winner)

I can't figure why this person seems to target you. I have seen many posts with just a single picture earning hundreds of bucks while amazing writings perish with just a few cents.

Apparently, there is little or no profit from using bid bots since the last hard fork.

There are many accounts boosting their posts through several bid bots and no one says a thing. I think there's something fishy in your case but I'm not sure though.

If you got a problem with people using bots, target the owners or creators.

There is a general etiquette when using bots and I am not targeting Ralph, specifically.

Flagging is healthy for the ecosystem and promotes quality proof-of-brain contributions. Look at Ralph's last post and honestly tell me you think that small text and screen caps are worth over $152?

I'm not against flagging and as a matter of fact, it's good like you mentioned and I am not to judge how much a post deserves.

My only worry is that Ralph is the escape goat out of many doing similar actions with bit bots.

I think if we are going to go after people misusing bit bots, we should target everyone.

I do not support this action but it is what we are in for, just like self votes.

Hope you get my point.

There are multiple issues.

  1. Boosting something like to trending reflects poorly on the platform.
  2. The content was unexceptional but you boosted it to an exceptional amount.
  3. You are promoting laziness.

Those are among the issues I have. I've given you an opportunity and I not sure if the issue is intellectual dishonesty on your part or you are not perceptive to understand the value of Steem's curation algorithm when it is working properly.

Just because others are doing something does not make it right.

Yes you are correct @anthonyadavisii it doesn't make it right! i totally agree!!

  1. I think boosting in itself rates poorly on the platform
  2. Exceptional amount? can you point me to the link on the rules of the bidding bots and the amounts
    that can be used??
  3. I think you are promoting laziness too by targeting me and not others!

I don't think i am being dishonest in anyway! Now i might not understand the value of steem's curation algorithm correctly! So by what you are saying the bots effect this? and this is what is effecting it working properly?

All I want us to do is give better appraisals to the quality of our content which includes not boosting it WAY over what is reasonable for the type of content otherwise it is bid bot abuse. If we all do what you are doing, Steem is not sustainable as how will investors be able to take us seriously as a blogging platform?

Hint: They won't.

So by what you are saying the bots effect this? and this is what is effecting it working properly?

That's exactly what I am saying and it doesn't change unless we are the change. Thank you.

So is there not a way to have the bots kicked off the platform if they are the cause of this? If they are the root of the problem is this not exceptable?

It has been for some time but people are slowly starting to realize it is far from the ideal. Read the last post by @edicted I resteemed. It talks about these issues and how we can work together to solve them.

that was a very good artical thanks for sharing. I apologize for my actions and have no ill will. I think i am more upset about seeing other posts where nothing is said. I will stop my actions and support pob have a good day sir @anthonyadavisii

Hi Anthony, while there are a lot of people that do agree with you, it has also become clear that bots are accepted by many in the community.

Bots have some value for us. For example, I started utilizing the steemvoter app so that I can be upvoting people when I'm too busy to be here. Additionally, this ability draws in investors because people that invest in things like to earn money passively.

The content producers of the community are the engine of this blockchain, but it also depends on getting fuel to run. The thing about that lifeblood effect, investors, is that they tend to not want to be active. For this reason, bots are a great value to the community and a symbiotic relationship can form between investor and content producer.

The real problems I see here is that its not a true meritocracy, or at least, it doesn't encourage effort enough. I hate the very concept of SBDs, its confusing and needless. The math could be much simpler if we only had STEEM and VESTS and rewarded at least something for a positive action.

I wish there was at least a minimum reward for all people. When I upvote someone's comment it should never be 0 rewards for them, at the very least they should get 0.001, and I'm happy for us to add more decimals there so that we can reward at least 0.000001 STEEM. In that case, we're guaranteeing growth of the small.

We both know quality content doesn't simply go up to the top because its quality. That's just the reality. Plus, the design is not set up to properly reward quality either, because of that stupid 7 day reward limit on profits. Its a fast food design that will lead to fast food quality content. If we want quality content we need to pay them enough for it and people are not getting enough for quality here, not yet. But I can't imagine them ever getting enough when the revenue earned only fits within a 7 day window...

Have a Merry Christmas Ralph. ⛄

I need support Sp :D

I hope you have spent a nice Christmas with your family ... and that you are already organizing everything for the end of the year. Blessings! :)
