And all of the sudden.. ¡No one reads anymore! God commanded: ¡Let there be light! and just a mocking laughter was heard in the darkness.

in #steemit8 years ago (edited)

Late, on this last Sunday's night, I decided to devote a chunk of my free time to just read some articles on my feed from people I follow on steemit. And simply leave one or another comment on a few posts that caught my attention enough as to dare to share my extravagant opinion on the subject of what they had written. I really did not feel inclined to write any post or article of my own writing that night.

But then, noting that most of these articles I was reading, almost each one of them also dealt with a thorny subject about steemit on which I had already written a specific long-ass post about that same matter barely a few days ago. I could not avoid the temptation to write a new one, this one here now to add more fuel to the bonfire.

The first post to call your attention on, comes from @happyme whose title is: Is Steem Dying? And whose image at the beginning of her post was the one that inspired me and collapsed all my resistance and reluctance to write my own post that same night.

¡Her Opening Image!

SteemDeath

So, after reading from top to bottom her article I was tempted to comment immediately with a picture of mine and drop some random words which would further strengthen the extravagant point of view of my comment. But I put up with it & I held on the impulse a little bit. }:)

I probably would have uploaded this witty image below and then prolly drop a few words around the lines of: "Well, if the death approaches to steemit. Just grab her by her wig. Let's give her a good revolt and get her pregnant. And then we could rest in peace happy with a big smile knowing she would have to fuck herself alone with the consequences of her actions."

Pregnant Death

Thereafter, I read another good article. This one from my friend @tarazkp and whose title is Stay on track & bring it hard, which curiously also dealt with the same thorny subject everyone is currently talking about by these days on steemit, but this one from a different perspective.

¡Stay on track! (If you can't bear boredom)

Boredom

Article for which once I read it completely, I also had to refrain my impulse to comment right away and that was exactly the moment when the idea to write this post as a more thoughtful comment in response to these articles was born.

And last but not least. Click also on this "yunk" article on the same subject written by @stellabelle if you are one of those who still enjoy reading stuff deep down with an anvil tied to your neck.

"How To Destroy Steemit In 3 Easy Steps"

Therefore my dear friends, followers and steemians. This seems to be a topic we all need to raise our voice louder in a collective way if we really want to keep steemit alive and in good shape with plenty health for a longer term. I've already seen the demise of lots of other Social Networks Experiments before steemit which also were supposedly intended to reward monetarily its members for their original & quality content contribution.

And after a very short time, when the massive raw human nature shows its ugly nose and hit harder destroying the internal fences & gates of proper ethical behavior due the eventual arrival of that huge and unstoppable avalanche of new hordes of barbarians who really care a rat ass about how to live in a True Sharing Economy & Community. They introduce their greedy paws to game the system in whatever way it takes trying to reap unjustly as much as they can from the collective communal rewards pool. Obviously, if the actual responsibles of the platform and original producers of the idea/project. If its high executives and development team does not take the corrective measures quickly. It will be already too late to react properly and counteract its unavoidable fate. ¡The Death Of Another Concurrent Promising Idea!

I know for sure, that steemit is not just a mean, platform and website online to get a few humble extra coins on the side, to sometimes simply be able to buy you a cup of coffee in exchange for your efforts of creating original & quality content with the goals of mining new Steem wealth to be distributed with the entire community equally. In my case, coming from a third world country currently facing a very serious political, economical & financial crisis. The struggle for survival is actually unbearable. And hence, having the opportunity to earn barely a few modest Steem tokens through your votes on our articles, very often this have the power to save a life. Since it shouldn't be a big surprise that for many steemians those same Steems or SBDs tokens have proved to be their only possible stream of decent and steady incomes to keep them going ahead.

So, read mate! Read the posts and vote them generously in a manual, clever and conscious way. Most of these articles have been written with the whole heart put inside their words with the hopes to add real value to your life too. Most of them which have many hours invested in editing, debugging, formatting and finally present the content to you in the most pleasant and digestible way they can come up with. Show your appreciation and reward them properly. This conscious approach can only have a great logical result: Increase the benefits and positive returns of your good actions toward you faster.

Yeah! claim to have a sharp sight doesn't always mean the same for everyone!

I did at least get a FEW readers and even some comments! It seems one needs to find a rather controversial or outlandish title in order to capture interest.

Earlier I wrote a scientific article and it was very disappointing to get so little interest in it. I thought we had a lot of very intellectual people here who would appreciate looking at the science of our Earth from a different perspective. It seems everyone is busy building bots to earn money instead. Today I saw a new project announcing a site that calculates how much to bid on a bot. Why are we still promoting bots here? Do people not believe the bots are hurting the platform? AM I just stupid? Should I be grabbing as much as I can while I can and not care about what happens to the platform in the end? I had one guy comment that he is doing fine and growing nicely, so I checked on his page and guess what? He's buying votes! And he made more than me in less time too! Maybe its true... I am simply stupid and care too much.

Haha happyyou! my dear @happyme. I'm glad you got at least some amusing feedback in your posts.
Yeah! it seems I am not so fortunate in the comments and engagement department. I suspect no one wish to be associated with such a wacko like me. Hence, I have no choice but conclude that most peeps around here fear their votes or comments stay too openly at sight of everyone and then be judged for showing support to my mad thoughts and squeal chirping posts. :)

Yeah, it is indeed very disappointing to witness how so little interest steemians shows when you face them in front of an unique opportunity to get their neurons squeaking a lil bit with unusual stuff for a change and try to lead them to suck some new exuberant flower's nectar for their own benefit.
I am always amazed to increasingly see comments on very well written and thought provoking posts, where a big bunch of the comments simply say "How much they liked the photos" ¡Wait! and the content ¿What? Tsk Tsk.

In my opinion Bots here must die sooner than later. Unless everyone wish to have just a place into the blockchain overrun by pure AI and encroached by just human Gamesters, Bettors and Gamblers who simply enjoy risk some money on those cute and destructive Bot Battle Shows & Gatherings out there.

Here's a "funny" thing that happened...

A few weeks back I participated in a "Community Engagement Challenge" for ten days... we posted and engaged and commented and kept going... 42 of us.

I learned something, there. I love the engagement and good quality content on Steemit... and I love creating engaging content. But I realized something... if I "make a deal with myself" to write 2-3 good original blog posts every day AND interact with the people who comment on them... that's often 50+ posts a day, already.

To visit all my friends who create excellent content? Wow! I ran out of time! But I learned to organize myself better, in the process. And to make days where the ONLY thing I do is curate other people's content.

And there's the other half of why I don't get over here to read your long-ass posts as much as I used to!

Totally comprehensible my dear friend @denmarkguy.

I know pretty well you love the engagement and good quality content on Steemit. Actually IMO, you are a remarkable reference to emulate into the creating engaging content department. Always commenting useful & thoughtful opinions on other ppl posts and replies in your own articles. And of course, also Interacting as much as possible to the limit of your available time and your human possibilities. That's why I appreciate so much your comments and I occasionally resent a bit not have been able to caught your attention to read my long-ass posts too.

But I will work harder on that. And I'm gonna try to post my stuff with an inlaid sleighbell so deafening, that you will not be able to avoid reading them thoroughly, to curate mine too and specially to find out where the hell the button is to turn off so annoying noise. LOL
