Your Character 2.png

I would like to continue where I ended yesterday where I talked about that you have to put yourself in front of other Steemians.

If you want to read it you can do it here: Are you dead or visible? It's all about visibility! Put yourself in front of other Steemians!

Like I wrote yesterday every product need to be market. The People need to know that this new piece of Tec is available and where they can buy it.

You need to see yourself as a product that needs to be put in front of the potential customers.

The difference between.png

Of course, you are not a product I say this just for a better imagination.

You can give a Product a particular character. Or better to say what kind of feeling it should trigger when the potential customer sees the advertisement.

A company can develop a large number of Products and give them different characteristics.

Not in your case! Here on steemit or other social networks is your character your brand. Why do we follow others? Why do we follow celebrities for example?

Of course what they are doing, their profession, their skills play a major role. But I would say that the character we see in these people is that what attracts or repels us.

ROnaldo Messi title.png

The two biggest football player in our century.

Both are fantastic players, won many titles, but both split the football fans when it comes to the question in which team you are playing.

Team Ronaldo or Team Messi?

Many people don't like Ronaldo because of his attitude, yes they even hate him for his appearance.

On the other side, people love him exactly for that. For his self-confidence, his theater he is doing on the field and outside of it.

But both are extremely good in what they are doing. Everyone is clear that those two players are the best. What attracts and repels is their Character.

What you do is important, but who you are and how you present yourself is more important.

People want to follow other people in the first place, not a topic.

If people can choose between two individuals who handle the same subject, they will listen to the one which is more sympathetic in their eyes. To the person, they feel a connection.

Brand building is for me the most important aspect regarding marketing. Feelings are involved. It's like a real relationship.

Especially in social media, your brand is important, and your character will be your brand.

In every post you make even if you write over many different topics traces of your character will always be visible and that is your eternal weapon.

Very valid points indeed. I think it's important for people to have a connection with the person they follow like you mentioned. But I think there is a fine line between making your character your brand and becoming a brand. If that makes sense! In other words, a lot of people are too quick to sell themselves in order to get few upvotes and have new followers. This is usually very true in the case of women because they use their looks instead of their content (or both) to attract loyal followers who are ultimately following for the wrong reasons.

Yes, you are right with that.
These are just quick actions to attract and get many upvotes in a short time.

This is something everyone should avoid that you have people who follow you for the wrong reasons.

In a world where everything is monetized i dont think they can have followers for the wrong reasons. I mean lets be honest if we were good looking muscular fit men and women wanted to follow us and upvote us for that would we not want to accept it?
On the other hand if men are happy to upvote follow and resteem women's content simply because they're attractive is that the womans fault or the stupidity of the man?

Good point, and the answer to your question is;both. The woman is at fault for using her looks (which by the way she had nothing to do with since it's God given) instead of using her brain, skills and talent to attract and keep followers. And the man is at fault for being dumb enough to give his time, attention and upvotes to someone for reasons that are irrelevant. If steemit was a modelling platform, then yes, but it's not.

Wow I agree with you..your character is indeed your brand and am sure that you have a great character...you will also be a big success here-keep up the good posts

You honoring me with these words.
Thank you, my friend.

very well said. I just up voted and followed you. I will wait for your blogs. In your blog you have written everything which we needs. what a lovely blog. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for this lovely comment.
You're are honoring me. :)

You are very right brother, your character and the way you relate with people generally will speak for your brand, at the same time you need to have a product that meets needs of your target market, in order for the brand to survive in the long term. An emphatic character will only gain attention of the target audience, but if the product doesn't create value in the lives of prospective buyers it won't perform well in the market..... In the case of steemit your products are your posts.

Exactly my friend. Well said!

I totally agree.

We are selling an image here from ourselves and I think the majority of people are "dog voters" meaning they vote for a person.

The others would be "cat voters" who vote for content and roam around but still come back regular to their used habitat.

For both you have to build a connection and relatinship.

Which is also the reason for social media in the first place imo.

Awesome comment! Thank you for explaining the difference between dog and cat voters :)

Good point! And what I realized here on steemIt is, that people with similar characters follow each other. So there is a deeper conection like you mentioned.
As for Messi and Cristiano; I didn't like Cristiano at all when I was living in Germany, because of the way media is talking about him.
Since I am living in Spain my view totally changed, because the media here draws a completly different picture of him. He seems to be very shy, he had a difficult childhood, his dad died from drinking, etc... that are things I learned in Spain, but never heard in Germany.

Oh, my friend, you mention something significant. You are so right. The media has huge influence how we see a person. Thanks for bringing this up.

You are welcome:)

WOW very nicely said! Keep it up :)
