Steemit Meetup in San Diego
Time to Meet
Hello everyone,
I think a lot of us live in or around San Diego and I think it is high time that we start meeting in person. A while back, I had heard about a local meetup - but only a couple of hours before it was happening and I couldn't go. After that, there were no more to the best of my knowledge.
Of course, I could be wrong and there is a group meeting on a regular basis already. If so, please let me know. I want to meet you!!
Or come to this meetup we are planning.
Steemit Meetup in San Diego
- Date: 4th of March - a Sunday
- Time: 2 PM
Update: Several of you suggested that we rather meet at a Park close to a train stop. Old Town has been suggested and I think that is what we will do. I am going to post another post with more detail and will leave a link in the comments of this post as well.
Place: Starbucks on Balboa Ave & Clairmont Blvd
Address: 3895 Clairemont Dr, San Diego, CA 92117
If you have a better idea for a meeting place, please speak up. I am looking for a place close to a Freeway, with easy parking and hopefully, not too much noise.
We have people from San Clemente and LA interested in coming to meet up. If you know of the perfect, kind of central location, speak up!!
These are people who are either coming to San Diego around that time or are living here. But I know there are many more. So, please, spread the word!

Hi @mariannewest, I run the @socalsteemit with @derekrichardson and @CSUSBgeochem1. I will try to make it down, but I am headed back to Tokyo the following week and may be busy. My good friend @et7 is down there and I will pass this info on to him.
That is wonderful!! There must be a ton of us here :) But we don't know each other. Do you live in Tokyo or work or visit?
Yes, there must be a lot of us, it's just trying to get everyone connected and supporting one another is a challenge. I work with the @steemit-jp community in Tokyo. We are organizing the country into groups to help one another and just had a big meetup the other week, my wife went in my place https://steemit.com/meetup/@steemitjp/tokyo-japan-3th-steemit-meetup.
I wanted to do the same thing with So. Cal so we started the @socalsteemit group.
I live in Tokyo. From So. Cal though. Do business here so I am around quite a bit too.

Hi Marianne! Thank you for doing this! I have been trying to get a little West Coast group together with my boyfriend, as we just moved from NYC and figured it would be a great way to make new friends. Count us in! @nutinbutdatruth Just saw you resteemed the Riverside meet up as well. Will you be going to that one, as well? And just my two cents, but if youre expecting a lot of people, Starbucks might be too loud and confined? Is there a small park or picnic area nearby?
I am planning on going to the riverside meetup - just found out about it. And it looks like we might have a good turnout and a park might be better - also just found out that I will have my tow dudes with me - unless my daughter can take care of them... I think I will take tour of Old town tomorrow and see if we can find something easy to get to with the trolley and easy to park and all of that...

Yes it is. We are going to meet in Old Town. I am going to publish a new post about it tonight or tomorrow. Several people suggested to meeting closer to a train/trolly station.

Oh! I wish I could come and meet you all there. I will be in Arizona next week and Las Vegas, so close and yet so far. I hope you have a wonderful meet up and it goes fantabulous and I get to see some photos of some Steemians! Good luck!

You're welcome :) it's snowing and cold as we return from the hour trip to the mall to get luggage and a swim suit. It's getting more real by the day 😁
