Steemit Was Under DDoS Attack By Accident / What is DDoS Attack / STEEMIT Debit Card Must Be Implemented
DDoS Attack By Accident..
Thanks to Steemit Team for hard work to mitigate the attack..
DDoS means "Distributed Denial of Service", that is, several computers previously infected by hackers are fired remotely against a target determined by the cybercriminal, and from there they start to generate thousands or millions of requests until the service or website goes offline or suffers intermittencies due to overload or over-traffic.
These attacks force victims to restart their systems, suspend services temporarily, or obstruct communication between users and the victim.
The computers infected and used by the attacker for these attacks are known as zombies. These hundreds or thousands of machines are usually invaded by hackers and left on standby, awaiting commands. The original users of these computers generally don’t know that they are being used by cybercriminals.
Once the victim has been chosen by the hacker and the command is fired, the zombies attack the target server.
Zombies are instructed by commands to access resources repeatedly against the target simultaneously. At any given time, all zombies will make the same request in the same second, creating an overload on the victim.
Some attacks, depending on the request made, can cause the attacked server to reboot, becoming unavailable, or even generate bugs in certain features and services.
STEEMIT Debit Card Must Be Implemented Soon.

Love the idea of the Steem debit card! That would be so useful, and save a lot of time and $ in transfer fees!
A Steem debit card would also shoot up the value of Steem significantly and increase new users. It would rival Dash as cash.
You're right.
I don't see any negative!
FYI it was not a attack on a outside source..it was cause they where trying to impliment a system into steemit and it kinda backfired on them and made a continuous loop on the nodes causeing them to kinda get over runned by services..kinda like they DDOS themselves by accident.... Just trying to get the facts straight for you :)
Thank you for let me informed.
Any way my pov STEEMIT Debit Card Must Be Implemented Soon.
to have access to our funds if we face DDoS Attack in future.
While steemit.com was down, busy.org was unaffected.
Steemit is not the only interface to access the steem blockchain. There were no issues transfering STEEM while steemit was under attack. Just use another frontend if one is down.
Thanks I was wondering where the 'by accident' part of the title came in!
Yes Steemit card will be a great idea for sure
Thank you for the explanation about DDoS Attack and I did not had any cue about it until I read this post.
As you suggested Steemit Debit card is a good alternative option for such attacks in future.
Cheers!
That is a very brilliant Idea- "STEEM debit Card"...Let's spread this so that the creators of Steemit will consider it. Thanks to @lordoftruth ...
The steem blockchain and steem currency are mainly used in steemit platform, the funds are safe just cant get used in steemit but there is steem wallets you can use
Thanks for the info.
I know the fund is safe..
with STEEMIT Debit Card you can use it..
That is a interesting idea, when can you give me more info about it?
Yes yes yes and yes. A steemit debit card would definitely boost the steemit user base, better for us all. As @arbitrarykitteb said would cut costs and time transferring.
Indeed seems like a logical way to go.
