[Текст на српском] These are hard times for all of us trying to earn some steem. Value dropped from a historical high of $8.19 to the current $0.89. Yes, it’s down -89%! Should we be worried?

I do not wish to bother you with long motivational stories, nor with the short stimulans nonsense (“Just keep steeming”), but I would like to remind you of a natural cycle of rise and fall. Yes, we may be in a dip, but have you seen the big picture?

While our @penguinpablo is enjoying his deserved vacation, we are going to use this chance to compare Steemit growth in the last year, using his excellent daily stat reports.

A year later, steem has lost more than 50% of its value comparing to bitcoin, but the platform Steemit has gained 800.000 new members, 700 positions up Alexa rating, and has slightly less market cap value. That looks like a promising development, and I’m still to find a better platform for content monetization. All the current competition is either in a test phase, or can’t monetize its tokens. In my view, current value of token is not of primary importance — if you want monetization under better conditions, you have to be patient.

What would Steemit need to improve its experience and keep leader position? Well, Scorum.com, steemit-like platform specialized for sports contents, has managed to nail some things better, like this Steemit vs. Scorum text shows.

My greatest gripe at both platforms is a lack of navigation tools. For example, decent search engine, or jump to historically first message, jump to a certain date, or a count system that would allow jump to a post numbered by ascending or descending order.

What are your thoughts on this?
