Trending page isn't rotating faster at all, my suggestion to improve it.
Originally posts would pay out a stake-weighted 24 hours after each vote. We are changing this to a stake-weighted 12 hours after each vote. The result of this change is to cause content on the “trending” page to rotate faster. Most content will still take over 24 hours to payout from the time it is posted.

No sir, You haven't taken the posts that get hot after the 12 hour period.
Take a look at these posts:

This problem is especially prone in the cn section, because a lot of posts have been upvoted after the 12 hour period.
Not only do the authors have to wait a painfully long 1 month to get their payout, they also take up the trending page for A WHOLE MONTH till they get paid out.
My suggestion is that make the second payout as pending for 24 hours, then the third as 48 hours. After the third payout, there will be no more votes counted towards the payout.
This way, the maximum timeframe for a post to stay on trending is 84 hours. Much better than 1 month.
I think those are revived posts which will be trending till they are popular. It gives a great chance for lost posts to be rediscovered.
I don't think they will be on the trending page for a month, many of the revived trending posts from yesterday have disappeared. The only one that remains is Cheetah, but that may be because it is still very popular. Let's see how it plays out. It's still early stages, and of course they are still adjusting the algorithms.
Not sure. Perhaps I am mistaken. But the examples that I have listed have been there for at least 2-3 days.
You're probably right that they are staying too long, but I have seen a couple of older posts circulate out since yesterday. So I don't think these will be trending for a month.
Interesting observation. I guess we'll see tomorrow whether these posts are still trending.
But even 3 days is way too long.
yes it looks like the problem payout of 4 weeks was too long for the community steemit .. I've experienced the same post I had two days running and then get a big vote of someone but when the payment process must wait for 4 weeks .. oh my god!
Wait, is that just like they do in offices?
whoa. did not know this at all. thank for the valuable information. didn't think it trends for a month..
my post was taking off and it still payed out nd stopped it at 12 hours.... i'd rather have allowed it to continue? :/
nice post

Hi! This post has a Flesch-Kincaid grade level of 4.0 and reading ease of 95%. This puts the writing level on par with Ernest Hemingway and Donald Trump.
Excellent post!
