In my last 2 posts I talked about the importance of writing meaningful comments and the importance of finding your niche.
Both ideas fall under the umbrella of the most important concept which is:

Community

Today we will discuss another great way to find and build communities which is Discord.
I often receive comments from new users asking what MSP is and even what Discord so I hope this post reaches the new users who need to see this the most!

We can not succeed on Steemit as an island. We must connect with others on the Steemit Platform through commenting as well as connect with our fellow Steemians on Discord.
This is how you will make friends, find others who share common interests, find communities that you want to be a part of, network, gain followers, and you can even start a community of your own!

Some Tips and Advice Regarding Discord

The whole point of joining a Steemit Discord is to find a community you can connect with, build relationships, find friends, and network.
Every Discord server has some channel or channels where you can promote your posts.
Don't just drop your post and run. That won't get you anywhere.
Go into the general chat and start talking with people and do that every day.

Also.....
Don't ask/beg for upvotes and follows.
Don't private message people that you don't know and spam your posts.
Don't drop your post in the general chat - use the designated post promotion rooms.
Make your Discord name the same as your Steemit name so it's easier for people to find you on Steemit.
