Free Way to Get Steem Power To Overcome Bandwidth Issues - Part 6

in #steemit6 years ago (edited)

An easy way to get extra Steem Power, especially if you are having trouble with bandwidth...

Recap

Step 1: Sign up to CoinPot

Step 2: Sign up to Coinpot's linked faucets and Start Claiming

Step 3: Get Your Referal Links

Step 4: Converting all the cryptocurrencies into one Cryptocurrency

Step 5: Making sure you Have Picked Currency With Best Rate

Today's Task

Step 6: How to convert your cryptocurrency into Steem Power.

Go to Blocktrades - https://www.blocktrades.us/

SP1.png

As we have decided from the previous step, that dogecoin is the best currency to use for today's conversion, we will select that from drop down list on the "select coin to send"

sp2.png

Then we go to coinpot (https://coinpot.co) and login, select dogecoin (this time) as this is what we converted all our coins to. We copy the amount we would like to transfer to steem power.

sp3.png

Paste that amount in the "Send" side and select Steem Power on the "Receive" side

sp4.png

That is not a lot to start, right? But this method could really snowball once you have a few referrals. And in the meantime, if bandwidth is an issue, there is this awesome alternative...

Select Steem Power Delegation (90 Days)

sp5.png

The difference between Steem Power and Steem Power Delegation (90 Days) is that Steem Power is yours to keep forever and the Steem Power Delegation (90 Days) means you effectively rent the Steem power for 90s and then it will be taken back.

90 days should be enough time for your to generate enough SP either with your posts or even in part with this method to stop bandwidth issues being a problem.

The next step on Blocktrades is to write your steemit username into "Your receive address"

sp6.png

Copy the dogecoin address that it asks you send your doge too. (It will tell you what to do in this section whichever cryptocurrency you are transferring into steem power).

sp7.png

Go back to Coinpot and select "withdraw dogecoin".

sp8.png

Paste in the dogecoin address into "Withdraw dogecoin address
Select maximum amount to withdraw
Enter your Password
Show you are not a robot
Press Withdraw

sp76.png

Confirm withdrawal

sp10.png

You will get a message saying to confirm the transaction, you need to click the link in your email.

sp11.png

Find the email in your email box. (you can see how messy mine is in the video)

sp12.png

Press the confirmation link in the email.

sp13.png

And you'll get the message that it takes up to 48 hours for this to be paid into your wallet.

sp14.png

Tomorrow, we will look at the proof of this system working and its potential, then for Friday I will create a document with all this information in that you can share and edit with your own referral links

does that 90 day delegation come's instantly ???

Not sure, but I think it will come within a week for sure.

It took just over 48 hours. I will update this post shortly

Thank you. I had this question since I joined but forgot to ask.

How long we get earnings from a post? I think we can get only for 7 days since the post is published, and don't get any from older posts. Is it true?

That is correct. After 7 days posts can no longer be upvoted on or edited.

Is it the same for DTube, DLive videos?

If so, all who want to make living on Steemit should keep working as always, not like YouTube or website.

These faucets are very cool to try to build up steem power :)

Well written article on acquiring free steempower. The delegation aspect is what I am more interested in, because it gives someone more voting power and curation reward on the long run. I look at buying steempower delegation as long term investment strategies. Helpful and quality post @hopehuggs

It is worth doing a few sums to see if a delegation is going to be profitable or not, in the long term. As, often like with voting bots, there may be losses.

Woah, this is science. I have to read your full series here once I have earned something to invest :)

No money needed to invest, just a little time required to click on the faucets.

Hi @hopehuggs

I woke up and got my answer. SP is forever (unless we transferred), but delegation is 90 days active power.

But how it effects upvote value?

I mean, Both SP and Delegation combined in the effect? For example, SP is 100, and delegation power is 1000, will it effect upvote as 1100 SP?

if you are at 0 (zero ) SP right now you can either buy steem power out right and your vote will go up accordingly . Your other option is to purchase a delegation. That will make your vote act just like the level of steem power you rented. The catch is it is temporary and you need to put in some damn hard work to start making SBD and Steem Power because once your deligation is gone your steem power goes back to what ever you have now earned.
You don't want to just rent SP if you don't know what you are doing. you need to learn the art of curation (I am still learning this) and you need to have the art of writing an article down to a science otherwise you will not get any author rewards either. Having big steem power does not mean you will get in hot or trending. It helps a lot but a lot of those big SP guys are still buying bots to boost it up for visability . Using bots correctly is another dark art to learn. You can quickly loose your ass if you don't watch it.

Thanks @doomsdaychassis for the answer. So if we can write good content it is better to buy delegation instead of forever SP. And I like the way you are spreading your level by writing good answers to others' questions.

I write both fiction and non-fiction. But waiting for the right time to post better content than I am currently writing. Once I get good SP I will start posting great content than normal content.

By the way, I started following you from now onwards.

Thanks for the follow. Yes buying the deligation is a gamble. if it helps you gain attention and start earning it is a good investment. If you don't gain any traction and don't start earning it will be money lost. i just wanted to put that out there because i don't want to see anyone loose their hard earned money. I will come check out your blog.

Sure thing. Hope we will reach the level of success where @hopehuggs is.

not too hard to go beyond that too :)

Every time I heard something from you makes me motivated. But for that matter, I feel hard, many author don't upvote even for good comments or posts. It is hard to get that stage if we don't have good connections who upvote and encourage. Not everybody is like you.

I still trying to reach a success level without investing in SP. But it seems like it is too hard to get that if I don't invest in SP. Or am I doing wrong, or missed any good discord groups to get connections?

Just my 2 cents here but i would try and invest some fiat currency into buying steem. If you get real lucky you can drop $100 to $200 in bitcoin now that it is down and then sell it on the bounce and convert that to steem. steem price seems to move slower / less drasticly than bitcoin so you can easily get double your moneys worth of steem if timed out properly. it is a better inviestment than renting delagation in my opinion.

Thanks to your post I understood the difference between Stem power and Stem power Delegation (90 Days). It's worth a try. But first I had to understand it, so thanks for the information.

I'm glad it helped.

this much steem power for free now this is awesome thanks for sharing

all is automatic or we have to claim every day

You need to claim at least once every 24 hours.

There seems to be some sort of problem at the moment as hitting the Withdraw button does nothing. No confirmation message appears and no email is sent. Will try again later.

Log out, log back in, try on another browser, try again later, those would be my solutions too.

Change of browser did the trick.

Man, I had a coinpot account all this time and few other faucets, just didn't get around to understanding how to use them. Thanks @hopehuggs for the step-by-step tutorial, awesone! Now I have completed all steps except 6 as Dogecoin still low, woohoo! Thanks again
