Spiritual Enlightenment - Part 2

in #steemit6 years ago (edited)

Hi Steemians

Enlightenment is mostly associated with Buddhism, but also available in all other religions. "Nirvana" is enlightenment in Buddhism and it is believed to be a state of peace and unity with the cosmos. Each level of consciousness is a level of enlightenment and enlightenment also means many different things to many different people. But they enjoy the flow of life and experience the reality with no distinctions, as if they are immersed in an ocean of consciousness.

One thing we need to understand is that We had many Prophets, Teachers and Enlightened people in different countries and different times. They spoke according to the context of their time and used the words according to what would work to the people of their time. Whether it is Kabbalah, Sufism, Zen or any other path that you choose, all lead to the same destination. The freedom from desire and other worldly passions. The liberation from the system of earthly suffering.

Enlightenment is a potentially universal experience, but each being comes to it through a different path. Many people see enlightenment as destination, while others see it as a journey. I think it is the beginning of the spiritual journey that starts with the awakening. When we dream, we know that we are dreaming. Even if we feel sad, happy or afraid; we are aware of everything. Enlightenment is the state of understanding the reality and we have to go beyond this mind to achieve it. There are many gurus or teachers who teach different ways of Meditation and many of them are also effective. You can try out different meditation methods until you find the right one for you. If one of them doesn't work our for you, try an other method.

Jalaluddin Rumi was a Persian poet and a Sufi mystic He became enlightened after 36 hours of continuous whirling, without any stop. He danced until the dancer disappeared in the dance and there was only dance and no dancer, when his ego died.

Buddha did everything and became the master in every method that was taught to him. He visited all the gurus that existed in his time and learned different methods from them. He struggled for six years and invented his own methods. One night, seated beneath the Bodhi tree he became deeply absorbed in meditation and finally reached enlightenment.

  • If you truly wish to experience Enlightenment then nothing can be more important than this.
-Meditate on a regular basis. Learn to be still and to feel the reality that underlies the physical and emotional world you participate in.
  • Yoga is another way of achieving enlightenment. Yoga is Sanskrit, Hindi word and means the connection of the internal energy of a person "Parana" to the infinite energy of universe.

Are you are ready for the spiritual journey! A journey which only appears to be a journey :)
Like a wave is to an ocean, a self is to an existence. We think that we are separate, but we are all one.

Awesome post!! Keep it up and check out THIS POST as well as I have something similar.

I liked your write up I need to correct something. Mevlana Jalaluddin Rumi was not a persian. He is Turkish and lived in Ottoman Empire. His grave is in Turkey in the city called Konya in the middle area of Turkey. We call the men turning around themselves as "Semazen" And yes he was a very enlightened man but he was a strong Muslim and calling people with the most kindly way to Islam...There are many people from the world coming to Turkey to visit his grave.

Thank you :) Yes true he lived in Turkey, but originally he came from Balkh. He is originally Persian I have plans to visit Konya. I was in Turkey, but didnt get the chance to visit. Hope to do it this year. Must be a nice place :)
