Spiritual Enlightenment - Part 1
Hi Steemians
The most people are looking for Enlightenment, the mystery of all mysteries. Nobody can describe it, nobody can explain it and nobody tells the truth about it. People are travelling from west to east looking for this ancient treasure that only few people could find.
I think we are born enlightened and every one of us was enlightened when we were born, but not aware of that. We were complete, fulfilled, and happy. As we grew up we started loosing our innocence and started worrying, thinking about the future. Our parents taught us how to be selfish and materialistic. How to compete with others and be egoistic. We started moving away from our true self and be busy with family, education, job, society and accumulating wealth. Our lust and desire became endless. We wanted more and more, satisfying our Ego. When you ask someone "Who are you?" Usually you get answers as "My name is...", "I work as ...", "I live in ..." The answer always describes everything a person is identified with. His house, his job, his community, his belief, his country etc...
We can live for years that way until we get fed up. We wont enjoy the same things anymore and everything becomes meaningless. Then we ask questions such as "Who am I", "Why am I here" or "What is the purpose of my life". We realize that everything we have and own, are necessary only for the materialistic life and nothing lasts forever. We start looking for the truth and the everlasting bliss. And once we realize the truth we understand that whatever is us, is not really us. And what ever is our is not really our. We become free and mentally detached from everything. We understand that the whole idea of a separate personal self is just an illusion and that we are all one. We start to see everything differently like we see everyone and everything for the first time. Our thoughts, emotions change and we have no more suffering or craving. We will be peaceful, fearless and guilt-free.
Spiritual enlightenment is not a spiritual experience. We can experience many things while meditating like colors, voices or visions, but they are common spiritual experiences. Spiritual enlightenment is the Infinite love and the guiding intelligence. We wont observe love anymore, but we become love that is so pure and has no limits. It is a realization that everything is perfect. Everyone of us experiences enlightenment differently and we wont have the same experiences. Same as travelling for the first time, giving birth for the first time or even having sex for the first time. Everyone of us has a different experience and describes in a different way. We might all go and watch the same movie, but everyone of us will tell a different story. So you can understand it, only when you experience it :)

"Who are you?" is a very quick way to find out if someone knows who he/her is. It is some kind of trance going on when answering this question.
But it is difficult to be in that trance :)
Not too many seek enlightenment nowadays. It's the lack of time and current rat race that we are engaged right now. I had a couple of years when I read a lot of spiritual books and meditate daily for this purpose, but no result. Maybe it's not meant to happen yet. I am glad though to read about such subjects on Steemit. Great job with your post!
My plan this year is to break away from the rat race. What is sad is that when people see you leaving the "race" they feel that you are loosing. They do not know that there is an alternative route where you can enjoy your journey.
The alternative route is what I am aiming at also. Don't plan on going to the monastery, but neither want to go back to the stressful life that I had. Hope to earn a living from cryptos and enjoy more of the real life.

@acesontop It might happen one day and you never know when. Dont give up :) I am also planing to stay in a monastery at least for a months. I think it is the best thing you can do for your yourself.
I laughed out loud when I read this. But it is not funny!!! It is the truth. A lot of people do not know their purpose in live. I am just beginning to discover who I am.
The society wants to tell you what to do when you are out of school, your parents have THEIR plans for YOUR future. SMH. Everyone forgets that at the end of the day, you are the one who answers to your name, achievements, mistakes and successes.

Absolutely true.And once you choose to live your life the way you choose, means you disobeyed everyone. Thats our reality :)
For enlightenment one should take the medium path in life. In Buddhism it is said do not pluck the strings of a veena (string instrument) too hard that it break and do not loose the strings of a veena too much that it creates no music (noise). For enlightenment it should be properly tuned!

It is possible and many people did even without meditation. It is really a bit Mystery :)
