Steemit Verification And An Invitation To Play With @longsilver and @fishyculture!
Here is an updated verification photo. Even after all the selfies for @papa-pepper's epic contest, I still can't take one without the "WTF?" look on my face. Oh well, I often have that look anyway!
Now then, if you happen to see that face rolling through your town next month, say "Hello!" and we will buy you a coffee or a beer! We are taking a cross-country road trip. We are doing most of the travelling casual style, we don't really like to pick a route until we are getting in the car to leave. In general, we are driving from west-central Idaho to New Orleans. If you are along that general route and want to get together, say something in the comments! We do NOT expect anyone to tell us their addresses, we will just meet at a coffee shop or watering hole of your choice! I HOPE to have mastered live-streaming by then and will post little videos of steemians we meet along the way, if that is OK with any steemians we may meet along the way of course!
There is one part of the adventure that is "set in stone" - ROCK HOUNDING!!! If you are in the general area of Mt. Ida, Arkansas, we will be there the 11th and 12th of May digging crystals. On the 13th we are heading to Crater of Diamonds to dig for a day. To find us at those locations I should probably post a verification picture of my butt in the air as that is the official rock-hounding stance... If you just holler "Claire!" I will go ahead and stand up rather than post such an undignified thing! There are several crystal digging sites in the area, do let me know if you want to meet there and I will pin down which mine we are going to.
This is actually a business trip, so the other place we MAY be able to get together is in New Orleans. We will be there from the 14th to the 17th, although we are not sure how much hobnobbing with the conference attendees is expected. There is a free music festival at Jackson Square on Wednesday evening we are really hoping to get to, but we could at least meet in the hotel for coffee or beer I would think!

I can't see up close very well so I am always trying to see the tiny icons on my camera while I hold it with one hand and it usually slips about the time I try to click and now I have opened God-knows-what-ap... lol! Next summer we may get closer to you! Probably not for a few more years, but sailing around Central America sort of IS our "bucket list."
That's really cool. The time to enjoy yourselves is now, but old age really sets in and you may not have the health to do it! The one regret I have is that my husband and I did not do something like that when we had the chance.
I am so sorry you two never got that time.

My mom and dad's wedding picture... you can see the specter of the coming heartbreak even then. They were SO in love, then 53 years later he dropped dead at her feet and she just never got over it. How could she? I am not much for bargaining with God, but that is the deal I always plead for: Please, just let us go together. Hard on our kids, sure, but no harder than watching either of us try to learn to live without the other.
Amen! It is life-altering and you never get over. You can't carry on like nothing has changed. There is no doubt it is difficult. I am still finding my way almost 3 years later.
Believe it or not, you look good at all your photos. You should see me, I am an alien in photos with one of my eyes always closed :D I do not know how that always happens :) I am looking forward to your live streaming that you mentioned.
Lol! This last time I TRIED, took a second shot where I put a big grin on and remembered to look OVER the camera not at it... and cut off half my face. So I went with my usual "WTF?" look!

Whoa! I wish I have the time and the perseverance to do a cross country like you. Although my country is a lot smaller. Maybe next year I can start planning that and log them down as this year I don't have much leave left with me.
Don't worry, half of the time when I try to do selfie I have the same reaction and will have to try to take a few times before I am satisfied with it. haha.

Right now I am busy running a care act challenge in the Steemit platform for a friend's high school buddy who is battling Stage 3 cancer.
Sounds super fun, especially the rock hunts. I look forward to following all those posts. Who knows maybe we can get away for a day trip and meet up.
That would be awesome! I know a lot of people get sketched about meeting internet friends but I sort of HAD to when I got into politics. There came a day we all had to go to the conventions, you know? And while it turns out that every human I ever met is weird somehow none of the internet folks I met were any weirder than the people I already call my friends. LOL!
Well that just means your meet ups will be very very interesting. May as well just face it the level of weirdness usually indicates who is most memorable. I hope you encounter lots of weird people on your journeys. Will make for some excellent blog material.
