I am Busy

I’ve said “I’m busy”, over the past year more times than I could count for. I used to say it just to avoid people, but I’ve really been busy, and I don’t mind at all.

Most often is was my bff @escapist who heard those words, and she always thought that I had a man who I was busy hooking up with, but oh how wrong she was. I have been having a secret affair with Steemit for almost a year now. When I finally grew the balls to tell her what was keeping me busy, she wasn’t even that surprised because she knew that I like photography and that I enjoy being semi naked in front of the camera. But she was mad that I didn’t tell her earlier! I’ll probably be paying for that the rest of my life…

When other people ask me what I do, I’ve given quite dubious answers, and everyone is all the more interested and keep bugging me. I don't like that because in turn, I'm not getting all up in their business. On the contrary of what you might think, I'm actually a very private person. I seemingly show all and tell all, but then again, only a few people know me truly. I do my own thing and I decide if and when it’s time to tell people what I do.

I’ve been keeping, and will keep, Steemit a secret from most people in my life, at least for now. Even though my profile is technically accessible for everyone, I prefer to keep it on the down low from the people I know in real life. And no, I am not ashamed to show my nude pictures, everyone already knows I like to be half naked. I feel like I can be more real, open and honest in here, if I know that only my internet friends will see it. Thought I have been loving getting to know people through Steemit and meeting them in real life too. Its easier to find likeminded people in here, than it is in real life.

Being busy is often considered being a bad thing, but I’ve been having a lot of fun being busy, doing the things I like. So I keep being busy, writing and photographing. I do my best work when I’m not bothered by meaningless interactions with people that are just lukewarm to me.

I really need to get busy now because I slept until noon and I'm running out of material, and you know I don't recycle ;)

I've been trying to get some people I know interested in Steem but to no avail. It seems I couldn't market myself out of a paper bag. Several people evidently love wasting time on Facebook and the like instead of being paid for doing the same thing here. It has been an eye opening experience. Old things, however bad, seem to have a grip of steel on the typical person.

All that is no skin off my nose. With the proliferation of applications that use Steem (the blockchain) as a data layer, the value of STEEM is bound to keep creeping up. Anyone with a few thousand SP now will end up with a nice nest egg a few years down the road and those with an established following brought about by posting regularly will have a nice stream of income from Steem. If someone had told me a few years ago, that I could be earning a four figure sum of USD worth of cryptocurrency per month by blogging about whatever I please, I would've brushed it off as a bad joke.

I think one of the reasons it’s hard to get people to join is that this all seems like a pyramid scheme and how media paints anything crypto related almost criminal.

I’m higly sceptic about the future of steemit, but of course I hope it keeps thriving and steem price to moon and all that.

The pyramid scheme argument is incredibly stupid as one does not require any monetary investment at all to start blogging here. For one guy in particular at the Lahti go club it seems to be a sticking point that he cannot process the source of fiat value of STEEM as anything but an investment bubble. In actuality, it rests on the ability of Steem to attract a large mass of users whose attention would be worth a great deal to promoters and advertisers. Of course, STEEM benefits greatly from the general crypto mania at present. One great thing about Steem is that it is also a very high throughput payment system that has also been battle tested for about two years now. It is of genuine use of countries like Venezuela where fiat money is broken. Many of my Venezuelan users use Steempays to pay for everyday items.

I’ll probably be paying for that the rest of my life…

5% royalties from every future post to @escapist? Should make up for the lost financial gains.

Shhh!! Don't give her any ideas!

Not a bad idea here Mohawk! But really, I'm not too mad that Eve kept it from me. I'm mad that she abandoned me :'(

And I'm so happy that it wasn't a guy keeping you busy. That would have been waste of time...

That’s kinda how I feel about my blog. It’s available to any of my friends if they wanna see it but they prefer Instagram. So I guess I’m lucky in a way because I like having a secret treasure of thoughts tucked away on this side of the inter webs.

Out there in the open, but then again, very hidden in this new and weird thing called the blockchain.

Steemit is also my personal hideaway. That's the way I like it. I don't share it with anyone that knows me. Almost all have not heard of steemit, let alone a blockchain anyway.

This is a good place to play hide and seek, I think we are winning on the hiding part :D

You’re right
We should focus on developing ourselves everyday because nothing else really matters
What we put our energy into is very crucial

Kovaa elämää kun joutuu kasvattamaan ballsit että pystyy kertomaan...ja ihan pelkästään internet-kaverien tuella.

well you can always just say you are a blogger - it is technically true...

That I am but if I tell them that, they'll ask for the link or start googling me furiously to find out.

It is an interesting problem to figure out what to say in order to satisfy the curious without stoking their curiosity. What if you told the you were a freelance photographer and showed them a photostream of selected photos on some other site?

I have been thinking about that but can’t be bothered because the next thing is that they want me to photograph their engagement party or something like that.

Seems like every way is a dead end. Guess you should just avoid people, haha.

You can't say you're unemployed, either, because then you can't let anyone know you've been traveling. What if you just lied and told them you do what you used to do before you became a full-time Steemian a few months ago?

Haha, it doesn't really work, this is a small town :D but yeah, this is not a big problem, I just avoid people so it's fine :D

I can believe it. No one knows the time it takes to be involved with Steemit. O go to bed after 1am every day and I don't get up early. 9 am is good and I waltz into work by 10 maybe 11am. I know this is not sustainable but I am growing on Steemit and that is what counts for now. Every day is a challenge. Will it be a shit post or a good post. I have been busy and my voting power just disappeared over the last few days. Today is a day of rest and to get my voting power back. No one would understand but another Steemian. I am sure escapist will forgive you.

Niw that you said it, I start tofeel better being too busy these days. Outaide of work, it just means that a lot of things are happening to my life which is a very good thing :)

It's much worse being totally still isn't it? :)

What happened? How is it possible?

oh, that is pretty far from theft, because the rewards we are seeing displayed at posts or comments are called potential payouts, especially because they are not sure until the 7'th day since the post has been made. But what did she flagged?
