⏺ You need to open up to new ideas! Open up!! Part 1
I can't remember who I heard it from, but I once heard this really powerful quote. 'There is nothing more dangerous than a closed mind'.
How true. I used to be incredibly closed-minded. I didn't enjoy taking advice from absolutely anyone. I thought I knew everything that I needed to, and that nobody could possibly teach me anything else.
The key is being honest with yourself. Identify the reality, and not jut what you want to think, as there is generally a big difference between the two, unless of course you're 100% living your dreams, which is not very common.
If you knew everything, you would be exactly where you wanted to be. For that reason, if you are not exactly where you want to be in life, then you open-up your mind.

You need to humble yourself to other's who are above you. If you know exactly what you need to do, then it' a different story, but if you need to get to the next level, then you need to be able to take in new info.
Our ego's can be our best friend, or our worst enemy. It's our choice as to which one we allow to manifest.

If you are talking to someone above your level of progress, and you need to get some insight, you need to keep your ego down, mouth shut when they talk, and you need to open up your ears. That's it.

If you think someone you know deserves a shout-out, you are always welcome to let me know! Yes, you may nominate yourself, only if you really think your content deserves more exposure. Your results need to speak for themselves :) I choose a new person every week for the Shout-Out Saturday post! So stay tuned, it might be you!
More than how much my posts can make, I care far more about getting my content in front of newer faces. So if you would like to show your appreciation, you can share this with others!
I want this blog to be a happy, motivated place where you guys are free to engage and say whatever is on your mind. A place where if you have something on your mind, no matter how dramatic it may be, you can feel free to speak. Resteems are appreciated!
I reward good resteems and comments! I would love to know what's on your mind. Be bold and talk to me in my comments section! I would to know your opinion and what it is you'd like to achieve. I am trying my best to make 2 high quality blog posts per day. So stay tuned!

The thing is, in that situation, you really do feel that way. It's almost like you're brainwashed! We don't really ever know what we did wrong until only after the situation. Well, then again, that's life I suppose.

Thank you brother. I appreciate all my OG's. You are one of them ;) All the way up!

Your new cartoon pictures of yourself are sooooo cool! How did you get them? Did you make them yourself? If so, you have some amazing picture editing skills and should do a tutorial about it ;-) Maybe even start a youtube channel next
I generally do everything myself.. But this time, ironically, I decided to let a professional do it. I have a personal designer for the job :)
Talk soon.
Tell him he is doing an amazing job...
One last question for today: How does this ninja thingy work? I wanna apply too, but have not found out how to do it...
I tell him every time :D I did all the other designs, logo, thumbnails, etc. I get him to do the cartoons of course.
To be honest, I don't even know how I applied :D I jut remember being told I am apart of the team. It's confusing lol.
Talk soon.
Arrgh. I have another quick question... Your paragraphs are always so nicely formatted. What html code do you use to let the paragraphs start and end at the exact same place with the text appearing to be in justification. I hope you get what I mean. The word I am looking for is called "Blocksatz" in german.
Of course I get what you mean lol. I right the code for it each time :D
Drop me a message on chat, and I will help you when I have some time spare.

SO true, when you have a closed mind it can hurt not only yourself but the entire community. As i've gained a bit more knowledge over the years(i like to think so at least) i've diversified my reading and actively seek out reading material that opposes my own views. This has been an amazing experience for me as it helps me become a more well rounded individual and not so stuck up with my opinion.
The best example I can give is in the political arena. These days all we here about is the Left vs the Right. I generally lean left on the majority of issues, but I have been actively seeking material that supports the rights views. This has helped me be more informed on the issue as well as to learna different perspective.
Everyone is allowed to have an opinion, but that doesnt mean your opinion is right. being opened minded helps us to avoid these pitfalls. good piece
tip! hide
Wow man I love this.
You have a very mature approach by taking these words into action. Just by reading this comment is inspiration enough to be more of an all-rounding-opinionated person.
The thing is, there is always a reason for both left and right to be choosing their own sides. The wise man learns to understand both perspectives and have a common ground interest.
Thanks for this awesome comment. Thank you for your tip too! I did receive it :)

Top Notch man!! It reminds me of this quote!
"There are no constraints on the human mind, no walls around the human spirit, no barriers to our progress except those we ourselves erect." Ronald Reagan <~ not really a fan of the dude per-se but I love the quote.
You mentioned shouting someone out possibly? I am starting and curating a Video Contest here on Steemit, since no one has done one yet. I was hoping maybe you could do a shout out sometime! If not no worries!!
Have an awesome day!
P.S. love the PMA!!!
PMA? :) Could you rephrase?

Postitive Mental Attitude!
Love it :D
Thank you for that feedback man.
That's such a powerful quote! Thanks for sharing :)
I am assuming you're asking for a shout-out for your contest? I don't mind self promotion at all :) Give me a link to it, and I will take a look. I do a shout-out on Saturdays. I have a few nominations, but you never know :)
Talk soon.
Thanks for the reply!! For sure!! I am going to be posting my next video contest tonight, I will send you some SD with the link :)
Awesome stuff brother :) Let me know and if I have the time spare, I will support :)
My latest post series is HERE! Zombie Zane :P Talk soon
There's thing that psychologists say. That usually when people talk or argue we usually don't listen to understand but we listen to respond, already having an answer. Listening when spoken to or even taking advise from another person requires you to put your ego aside and understand that no one can know everything and some people may and do know something better than you. All you have to do is listen, analyze and decide.
Love it man. Really nice comment. I see that psychologist quote similar to the way many people like to argure. 'Argue to resolve, not to win.'
Really nice insight. Thanks for that!

Quite an entrepreneur you are!
This is actually what I've always believed in and it works for me all the time. The more you open up and listen to people doing better than you (in any aspect of life), the more you learn. I come from a society where normally men are considered to be stronger in decision making than woman. I recently got into a relationship an boy, they were wrong. Lol. My partner is GREAT at making decisions. I simply add up and that's how we go. It is going excellent so far and we plan on doing the very same in the future.
So yes, a mix of opening up, shutting up and speaking up does it just fine!
P.S. I love the footer!
Awesome comment man. I appreciate that.
Well hey, that's just society for you.. They all these stereotypes, but at the end of the day, we are all human. It's about what happens naturally I suppose. Good for you that you found that in your lady :)
Thanks for your awesome words! Glad you like my footer.

Thanks man. I'm glad we share somewhat same thinking pattern. And it is somewhat super, lol.
True, I am lucky to have found almost everything I wanted in my lady.
Of course we're all humans and that's what we badly need to realize. Talk soon, man!
(I'm really sorry my upvote's worth is nothing at the moment. Just gave it as a gesture. I'm sure you'd consider the sentiment more :))
I point to this quote of yours for my comments: "If you are talking to someone above your level of progress, and you need to get some insight, you need to keep your ego down, mouth shut when they talk, and you need to open up your ears. That's it."
I am often amused when students want to talk over or argue with their teacher. Yes, one shouldn't blindly believe or follow whatever they are told, but there is a place for discussion and it is usually at the end of the lesson, not during.
One of my profound learnings in life is to stop thinking about what I want to say while "listening" to someone else talking. If you're truly listening, you will be completely focused upon what is being conveyed. Only after the other has stopped speaking should you begin to formulate and communicate your response. Too often we miss valuable information or jump to conclusions after only a few moments of listening.
Cheers!
Such awesome insight man. Love it.
The school thing, I agree. Look, it's not that the teacher is necessarily right, but simply just the fact that they are older than the student should be enough to just listen. Out of respect.
I totally think what you said about listening is so powerful. I am a big culprit of jumping the gun. I have a very fast-paced way of thinking, and I'm very 'to the point'. So for me, it's super tough to listen to everything someone has to say.. But I also know it's the right thing to do, and that I would want them to do the same for me if I am talking. So for that, I am trying to train myself to follow my advice, and just keep quiet until I have something valid to say.
Thanks for this. Talk soon.
Nice one @enazwahsdarb. We should always ask: Why not? Either to ourselves or to others for a brainstorming. Challenge the status quo. That is how all disruptive business comes in with the quote:
A cruel reality but yet it is quite true. If you close up your mind, all old things will soon become obsolete and we will become helpless in that era.Well said brother. I like that. It's true, and if you start to become ignorant, you literally become helpless if you don't know what you need to really do.

Ya, is either you face it and own it or gonna get owned by it.
Love that. So true! Eat or get eaten :D

A bit off topic, but it's kind of genius of you to split up your blog posts into smaller pieces as long form content doesn't work well on Steemit. Keep up the great work :)
Thank you for that!!! That's exactly my thoughts on the idea. Sure, some people like to read a lot, but I want to be considerate to the majority of readers :)

Very nice post man.
Teach-ability = Willingness to Learn x Willingness to Accept Change :)
Wow nice insight man. Thanks for that :) Being coachable is very important.
Talk soon. Thanks for the upvotes!
you bet man great stuff as usual!
Completely agree with you! We have been given 2 ears and 1 mouth so we should be listening more and talking less if we want to succeed!
Couldnt have said it better!!
Agreed with that :P
Such an awesome analogy right there. Everything happens for a reason. Such great insight to that perspective right there man! Thanks for that :)
