Freedom for everyone?steemCreated with Sketch.

There is a new Super whale forming up at the moment which will be bigger then @dan's and @ned's account! Yesterday I got my first vote from him, so I checked his account to see who he is, he didn't wrote anything yet, but he is start to voting for the people ,which is good :) . So I checked on Steemwhales.com to see his overall history..... OMG!  Check this out:

He holds now more than 4 mio. SP !  At the moment he is number 6 on the list:

So where all the Steempower came from? For the last 6 weeks @freedom is constantly powering up, so I liked to find out from where it came from and digged a bit deeper. I checked his account on Steemdb.com an found out that he have 24 other account's ( I imagine they are from him ) which he is powering down to transfer the SP to his @freedom account!

All these accounts have one in common: they are 9 month old and never had posted anything.

I did the math for you, all these accounts together are holding a bit more then 3 Mio. SP  ( 3.031.674 exactly ) if they keep powering down and send the SP to @freedom during the next weeks, this account will have a total of  more than 7 Mio Steempower!  Which is more than everyone else, except the STEEM.INC account itself, which is not voting. This will make him the most powerful whale on Steemit.com!

Here the Steemwhales.com list again sorted by Steempower:

I hope he uses his power wisely and vote a lot to help the right people, specially the new ones. It would be nice if he votes for everyone with his power like @fyrstikken for example do, that would help Steemit.com a lot. What you guys think about this?

I wish everyone a nice Sunday, keep steemin !

PS: @freedom, in case you read this, would be nice that you left a comment :)

I remember having read about this around Xmas time. Please check here, in particular the comments.

Thanks for the link, very interesting, @ned said that he don't know who's account is this:

What scares me is this from the same post in the comment's:

If he flag's something he can destroy everyone if he want to....
There have to be a change in the future in my opinion.....

This is as well an interesting link which shows that it is one person who own's all the accounts: https://steemdb.com/@pumpkin/proxied

I also think there is one guy behind. But who is the question. However, as a whale, this person has interests in the Steemit platform. So that we can assume he/she will do good.

As long he/she help's the community everything is cool :)

Interesting development, though not surprising. How long will it be before, due to the exponential curve, that, say, 30 accounts decide to unite and operate as a collective?
I hear what you say about people who vote for everyone but a 3% vote, while better than nothing, is leading to poor quality getting equal rewards to good quality.
A few days ago I wrote a news story which was on page 1 of a Google News search (I shalln't elaborate) - it had $0.06 on 78 votes - I am happy to say that @steemnews.online picked it up and things improved.
Voting with 1,2 or 3% - sure it is better than nothing and I get that people cannot read everything but it becomes a 'throw enough mud against the wall' scenario.
Thank you, @elyaque for a very informative post!

I know what you try to say, of course there is a lot of bullshit post's around, but if he only votes with 3% for example with that power, its some cents, maybe a $. The point is, if he votes for everyone, we maybe solve a bit the retention problem.... Let's face it, we have around 3000 active user's since months, but we have everyday more and more accounts, so the people who opened the account's doesn't stay on the platform, they leave after some days, because they don't see any success..... If you are a new user and see nothing for your posts, you leave, but if you see some cents, you maybe try harder and put more effort in it......

Agreed, it is, as with many things in life, a case of getting on and doing your job well and the things which one cannot control will, given a fair wind, take care of themselves. This begs the question, is it a fair wind?
I have also noticed that a lot of the 'post and hope' people are not new ... they are working in the knowledge that there are 'vote for all' people around.

Whales are great unless they crush you :0

Excellent post! Great research!

Thanks for the flowers :)

Ohhh that's interesting, great detective work :)

Thank you, glad you like it :)

I found this from a bit of research I was doing elsewhere. It seems there are a few on the same trail!

I am not sure about him, I saw this before, looks more to me that he bought it, same like @hendrikdegrote for example, he bought his power for sure.

I think, in many respects, that the buying of power is more honourable than claiming 'status' for being in the right place and right time and mining it.
Anyway, I think you have done everyone a great service in posting this. Thank you.
When you have a chance, I would be interested in your thoughts around the co-operative concept.
I believe it will come. There will be two initial manifestations of this. More will follow, I would predict.

Of course, it makes sense, it does even more if an account with a high REP is involved. I believe so too that others will follow, on the other hand I can't imagine to do it with my account, I like to write and post what ever I want, in a co-operative community you have to follow the rules of the group...

that is the thing on steemit i never will catch which brings me to end my 4 weeks test earlier - this relying on whales to judge what content is good or bad. i will never dive into any whale butt to get upvotes but it is the nature of the platform isn't it @elyaque ?

I just hope he uses his power wisely and don't like some other whales for flagging etc. And like I said, would be helpful that he votes a lot of people with a smaller votingpower to keep them here on board.
What test you had done?

Agree, my test is an internal one only to check whether it is worth to spend my time here or not

I guess you have to give it some time. Before the new stuff is not implemented, the rebranding is not done, there will be no marketing. So be patient and wait a while, never forget we are here in Beta! Steemit will have a bright future, I am very sure about it :)

Sure @elyaque -makes sense to be patient -fingers crossed for the rebranding

Playing a bit with topics around currently - thanks for replying @elyaque - I generally like it here but do not wanna depend on power of people that are not qualified for certain topics apart they own power to influence any post

I never count on a whale to upvote my post, but if it happens, nice. So if you see it from this point of view you never get disappointed :) I have more then 200 voters everyday, and only earn a dollar o two average, but I don't see it this way, I see how many Steem I get everyday, which will be worth in the future a lot. So just accumulating :) So yes the time is worth it :)

Well said :-)

the whales consume 90% of the voting power = steemit is not decentralized

it's a very interesting, but failed experiment

Very interesting information - thanks a lot!

Hey, how are you?

Danke, passt soweit. Wir chatten morgen mal, OK?

ok, alles klar.
