I just made 1166 Steem, for only 1 week of work (and 1159 Steem)!

Welcome to the 33rd weekly installment of my series on Steemit income and growth!

Income on Steemit is generated by "investment" (the more Steem you have, the more you earn) and by "work" (earning Steem by contributing content that adds value). Already having invested my savings in Steem, I'm now working by uploading unique valuable content to the blockchain. My goal is to increase my average weekly income to 15 Steem.

Calculating weekly income

Considering income from accounts that I own, that my wife owns, and accounts started as group projects with my funds (currently @drutter, @medikatie, @greatesteem, @hempy, @girlsofgreen, and @sativazeee), here's the running tally:

Week 01 - 0840 (+ ? ) Steem (+?%)

Several disappointing payouts, for threads that took hours or days to create, led to another week of lackluster growth. The moving average manages to hang on just below 1% for now, but will fall sharply without some great results asap.

It seems like it would be worth having another look at a long term graph:

Green is actual Steem, blue is a line of best average.

Hopefully, we'll get some big upvotes soon, to bring us back up to the blue line. But even then, shouldn't our growth on Steemit be exponential (below in yellow), since we're always reinvesting our income/interest? Growth should only be linear if we're withdrawing our interest instead of rolling it back in.

I'll keep a close eye on this. Having some data collected is really helpful!

The best time to start collecting your own data is 6 months ago. The second best time is now.

Interesting. Do you know how your income growth on Steemit compares to anyone else's? Do other people share data like this? I haven't seen a lot of posts like this.

Thanks for asking.
I've been trying to find other people keeping their own data, but without luck. It's easy to do, and the data can be quite interesting (and even useful). You'd think more people would be studying the Steem blockchain! Quite an interesting phenomenon going on here. Somebody could do an entire course (or degree) on it.
