my Steemit growth was Forked HARD by HF20
Welcome to the 29th weekly installment of my series on Steemit income and growth!
Income on Steemit is generated by "investment" (the more Steem you have, the more you earn) and by "work" (earning Steem by contributing content that adds value). Already having invested my savings in Steem, I'm now working by uploading unique valuable content to the blockchain. My goal is to increase my average weekly income to 15 Steem.
Calculating weekly income
Considering income from accounts that I own, and that my wife owns, and accounts started as group projects with my funds (currently @drutter, @medikatie, @greatesteem, @hempy, @girlsofgreen, and @sativazeee), here's the running tally:

Last week's record for worst ever growth (0.45%) was shattered this week as growth plummeted to a pallid 0.27%.
Since nothing changed with my use of Steemit that could account for this dramatic change, and the timing matches up perfectly with "Hard Fork 20" (which occurred a week and a half ago), I decided to graph my Steemit growth over the last 29 weeks.
The result is disturbing:
I've never been this far below the line of best average.
To get back to that line (which itself is only linear growth... not exponential as we expect with compound interest), I would have to have 2 or 3 spectacular weeks in a row. And that looks very unlikely, given that Steemit has become a virtual ghost town. No new signups, and most users (that aren't in "the club") have stopped coming around. Upvotes are hard to come by.
Did HF20 derail my chances of getting in "the club" here on Steemit? You know, the small group of lucky Steemians who can make a profit off their full time effort, talent, time, and capital?

We got forked big time!
This week should be better. The week just finished was the week that very few of us could post or vote much due to the RC issue. It was pretty much resolved by now (this time last week) and steem went back to normal.
Will be interested to see your results for this week (last weeks payouts). My pending payouts are pretty good for the coming week, but our paths and techniques on STEEM are quite different.

You're right, and I'm already on track for a better week, but better than "worst ever" isn't much. Maybe it will take 2 or 3 more weeks of data before we see what longterm effect it had. Definitely not a non-effect, though. Ripples may be felt for a while after that one!
Hopefully the long term benefits will be worth the pain. I would expect that this week and next your chart will at least move back to the long term average.
