Steemit Rewards Pool Is At An All Time High Now

in #steemit6 years ago

Although I'm still traveling and I'm posting more about knights taking selfies or coffee shops not having WiFi, I just realized, while briefly looking at steem.supply, that the Steemit rewards pool is at an all time high: more than 740,000 STEEM.

It's true that the price of STEEM is much lower these days, so the overall value in fiat is less than $1.5 million.

Last time I was looking at the rewards pool was 3 weeks ago, and it was 713,000 STEEM.

The main reason for this increase seems to be low activity, probably because a part of the community is getting disappointed with the ROI.

As usual, when the rewards pool is increasing, I always suggest to my followers to keep posting (or, if possible, even posting more than usual).

Wanna know when you're getting paid?

I know the feeling. That's why I created steem.supply, an easy to use and accurate tool for calculating your Steemit rewards

It's free to use, but if you think this is a useful addition, I'd appreciate your witness vote.

Thank you!

That's right. Gotta keep posting. Even if the rewards are low, we've still got to distribute them!

I've actually halved the amount of posts I've been doing as the engagement is so low nowadays with there being fewer people around @dragosroua. it feels like you're just posting into the void most of the time.

Are you suggesting we should be posting more because we would get a bigger share of the reward pool? 😊

I'm suggesting the rewards pool is actually bigger. So, yes, you can say that "we would get a bigger share of the reward pool" as well. As long as you keep being active, obviously.

So now the money grabbers are gone, or silent, this is the best time to be on Steemit.

This is the time when yo can make some good connections, get real followers, built that following up so that when the good times come back you have more people who will actually vote on your posts.

Now is the time to start planting those seeds...... and you do that by posting and commenting, like crazy!

I agree with you, everybody should start posting without calculating about ROI...

Can't really agree with that. Steemit is built to encourage quick profit, as you only get one week to gather revenue from an article. And if you fall into a crypto drop, unless you're a bot lover or a whale friend, there's little incentive to actually put an effort into articles. Steemit is the enemy of evergreen content, sadly. Until they fix that, don't expect everyone to post when they get nothing in return. All they're doing is building value for the platform and being rewarded, maybe, with exposure. At that point, there's no difference between Steemit and traditional media.

It is hard putting a lot of effort and time to make a well researched and well written post only to make few cents as rewards.

It is hard but still better than posting for nothing.

Although the rewards generated by this platform are an important incentive, we can't have a community in which its activity depends on ROI, we must be constant.

I would say, that those who came here knowing it wasn't a get rich quick scheme will keep posting, even when STEEM/SBD is below $1.

I will follow your advice, I will keep posting. Have a great weekend!

that's why more steem is coming in rewards seems like the ratio is getting balanced too

Yes, this is the low activity that hit Steem really bad same time with the decrease of the crypto market cap. I was wondering, isn't also the other people not claiming their rewards, the reason why the reward pool increases?

It's probably part of the problem, some of them are not even coming back to collect what they made last weeks.

It may have increased but the value of an upvote has come down drastically. It has come down by almost 80%. One now makes more steem power but the amount of sbd earned has come down.

Yes, it's like any other Samsara place: it goes up, then it goes down, then it goes up again... :)
